Stress granules (SGs) are membrane-less aggregates that form in response to various cellular stimuli through a process called liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS). Stimuli such as heat shock, osmotic stress, oxidative and infections can induce the formation of SGs, which play crucial roles regulating gene expression help cells adapt stress conditions.
