Analytic relations that describe crack growth are vital for modeling experiments and building a theoretical understanding of fracture. Upon constructing an idealized model system the applying principles statistical thermodynamics, it is possible to formulate rate thermally activated as function load, but result analytically intractable. Here, asymptotically correct theory used obtain analytic approximations from fundamental formulation. These compared those exist in literature validated with respect Monte Carlo calculations experiments. The success this approach encouraging future endeavors might consider more complicated fracture mechanisms, such inhomogeneity or reactive environment.
