Construction work is one of the most stressful occupations in world, and COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated this reality. This research conducted a detailed investigation on perceived stressors different demographic groups among construction workers. Empirical data were collected using structured questionnaire Chinese industry. The empirical processed both an independent sample t-test Analysis Variance (ANOVA). findings indicated that male workers reported greater workloads than did females. Married experienced more fear job insecurity, they sensitive to poor working environment. Highly-educated inclined be satisfied with organizational responses, had lower insecurity role ambiguity, but heavier workloads. In addition, differences experience age statistically significant regards insecurity. contributes body knowledge by giving comprehensive understanding influences It also provides valuable insights identify promote their health wellbeing during after pandemic.

This study features the development of a framework to identify drivers towards increasing adoption modular integrated construction (MiC) methods for affordable sustainable housing (ASH). The rise offsite (OSC) techniques, especially MiC, has been evident in recent years. MiC’s ASH is still underdeveloped; however, due various benefits MiC over conventional methods, it envisioned be significant emerging approach tackling growing demand, and particular. Although few prior studies identified some factors utilization ASH, date have not provided holistic review or comprehensive interrelationships between such drivers. To address this issue, utilizes three-way process including systematic literature review, semi-structured interviews Total Interpretive Structure Modelling (TISM) method ASH. Initially, 111 were extracted from 40 existing literature. Following that, grouped into cost, time, productivity, quality, environmental, social, policy demand. Drawing on concepts systems thinking graph theory, TISM model eight was developed both interview results. Four levels hierarchy found among containing linkage, driving, depending autonomous. Succeeding steps Reachability Matrix (RM) Matrice d’ Impacts Croises-Multipication Appliqué Classement (MICMAC) analysis, social highest driving lowest dependency power, followed by productivity signifies importance enhancing In addition, strategic boosting also presented, highlighting key stakeholders strategies transformation along with conclusions. delivers wider landscape MiC-ASH synergy that may assist practitioners, makers relevant better understand relationships

Over the past 3 years, global construction sector has been severely affected by noxious coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Visionary stakeholders, including governments, practitioners, and academia, all have actively devising strategies to deal with crisis caused Despite rich contributions an in-depth review of their research works understand how pandemic handled position industry for post-pandemic actions future pandemics is hitherto lacking. Hence, up-to-date literature conducted in this study better terra incognita. It does so adopting a six-step thematic analysis 159 empirical peer-reviewed articles relation COVID-19 on construction. The discovered growing interest from different countries 2020 2022. existing studies can be put under four major topics, namely impacts, challenges opportunities, responding strategies, post-COVID-19 interventions. A framework consisting categories vaccination, personal responsibility workers, government-instructional practices, organisation-based approaches, proposed through lens socio-technical system theory handle Limitations were further identified. Four pertinent directions finally proposed: building upon testing response framework, adoption more advanced innovative increase productivity amid survive risk pandemics, beyond technological construction, view industry. This contributes knowledge body providing candid evaluation contributed academia risks

Volumetric modular construction (VMC) has considerable benefits in providing better cost, time, quality, productivity, and sustainability performance. However, the adoption is low, owing to various associated risks. This study aims identify VMC critical risk factors (CRFs) project stages attributes by conducting a systematic literature review of 91 articles. In stages, 31 CRFs were identified based on frequency analyses, divided into four stages: design planning, offsite manufacturing, transportation logistics, onsite assembly. The attribute risks following categories: implementation schedule, supply chain financial, safety ergonomic, civil structural. Overall, planning critical, as they are crucial maintaining project’s upstream downstream flow. Finally, proposed mitigation framework for using digital technology-based circular strategies overcome includes disruptive emergent technologies aiming mitigate VMC, keeping circularity action. terms theoretical contributions, this research delivers CRF register categorical division professionals understand landscape practical guides practitioners towards pertinent

This study investigates minority COVID-19 infections in construction and worker survival post-pandemic. qualitative explores individuals' perceptions experiences using phenomenology. The first questionnaire was distributed to 20 California professionals (MCP). Ten self-identifying minorities were recruited for this based on the questionnaire. ten participants then shared their stories semi-structured interviews. As a result, study's themes patterns demonstrate that participant's interviews uncover valuable evidence-based model knowledge. industry can use research 1) mitigate MCP issues, 2) collective impact form transformational alliances with place-based initiatives, major players, academia, 3) gather undetermined data, connect key stakeholders, coalitions through data gathering campaigns.
