Purpose While big data analytics can spur innovation among firms, it is unclear whether effectively drive value creation, proposition, delivery and capture to deal with disruptions the ever-changing demands of customers. This study therefore aims examine how be improved through capability (BDAC). advances discourse by investigating market environment strategic orientations play significant but little-studied roles in enhancing or lessening BDAC’s impact on business model (BMI). Findings The findings revealed that BDAC orientation (market learning) directly influence dimensions BMI (value capture). further showed partially mediate BDAC–BMI link. authors also noted link amplified at high levels dynamism. Practical implications suggest investing BDA alone may not sufficient superior innovation. However, continuous learning are crucial fully realizing full potential enabling capture, especially environment. Originality/value contributes existing literature being first facilitates developing countries. paper BM theorizing validating important rarely studied Thus, this extends understanding conditions mechanisms which effect optimized.
