The progress concerning the digital transformation of society is characterized by wide differences among different European countries, in terms intensity and timeline transformation. extent Romania Hungary below EU average thus, both states need to intensify their endeavours. present study analyses e-government education policies two main goals, addressed challenges predicted impacts Alongside specific societal drawbacks, we found significant approach elaborating public such as coordinated centralized versus fragmented more sector oriented Romanian approach. Among similarities, noted optimist view on digitalisation analysed documents – while benefits are widely presented, far less attention was given possible negative outcomes.

This study investigated the longitudinal effect of new internet usage on depressive symptoms and whether economic status modified this association. Data were from China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study, involving 5,259 participants who 60 +, did not use in 2015, followed up 2018. Linear regression with standard errors clustered at city level was employed. We found that associated less symptoms, association more profound among poor participants. It implies bridging digital divide requires special attention to those disadvantaged status.
