Family influence and dynamic capabilities in family firms: the moderating effects of knowledge scope and knowledge newness

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine how family influence affects dynamic capabilities in firms. This also aims analyze whether knowledge scope and newness serve as moderating factors relationship. Design/methodology/approach examines the businesses listed both Shanghai Shenzhen Stock Exchanges from 2009 2022. identifies belonging firms based on influence. In total, sample covers 2,934 Chinese accounting for 20,324 firm-year observations. Besides, by manually searching annual reports that reveal kinship directors executives, other financial variables are collected China Market Accounting Research Database. Findings empirically reveals negatively associated with capabilities. Moreover, effect weakened more newness. Originality/value findings contribute two streams literature.
