ABSTRACT This study examines the relationship between energy consumption and environmental degradation in BRICS countries from 1995 to 2022, focusing on how financial development moderates this relationship. The key objective is explore potential of mitigate adverse impacts consumption, mainly through promoting cleaner alternatives improving efficiency. To achieve this, employs Driscoll‐–Kraay fixed‐effects bootstrap panel quantile regression methods account for cross‐sectional dependence capture heterogeneous effects across different quantiles consumption. findings indicate that significantly exacerbates degradation, but can reduce these effects, especially at lower levels. However, higher levels use, mitigating impact diminishes. These results contribute achieving Sustainable Development Goals 7 (Affordable Clean Energy) 13 (Climate Action), providing valuable insights policymakers. Based findings, recommends a dual approach emphasizes strengthening systems while efficiency adopting renewable foster more sustainable future. also highlight need international cooperation knowledge sharing improve outcomes countries.

This study aims to determine whether the Pollution Haven Hypothesis (PHavenH), which suggests negative impact of FDI on environmental quality (EQ), is valid in seven selected emerging market economies for period 1990-2020. To achieve this goal, CO2 emission (CE) model includes renewable energy consumption (REC) addition variable. The elasticity coefficients model, cross-sectional dependence (CSD) and slope heterogeneity were determined, estimated by AMG method. found that REC positively influenced EQ countries examined. Dumitrescu-Hurlin (D-H) test results indicated a bidirectional causality relationship between CE. Additionally, unidirectional was observed from These suggest both play role improving EQ. analysis show PHavenH, expresses view relevant causes degradation (ED) developing countries, not valid. In other words, it confirms Halo (PHaloH), points finding improves concerned. context, has been concluded an important contribution determining validity hypothesis. findings essential formulate policy recommendations aimed at boosting production utilization under investigation. Such initiatives can help enhance sustainability contribute cleaner greener future these countries.

This research investigates how the USA's load capacity factor (LCF) has been impacted by trade openness, financial development, stock market capitalization, and industrialization over period 1990–2022. study also tests "Load Capacity Curve (LCC)" hypothesis. Various unit root were conducted to determine stationarity of dataset, revealing that variables are free from problems exhibit mixed orders integration. The "Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL)" bounds test confirmed co-integration among variables. results ARDL model validated existence LCC hypothesis in USA. findings demonstrated is positively correlated with LCF, whereas openness negatively LCF. To ensure robustness estimations, employed several regressions, all which validity results. Additionally, pairwise Granger causality revealed unidirectional causal relationships between GDP capitalization while no found development LCF advocate USA should advance eco-friendly industrial practices environmental sustainability, alongside regulated markets institutions mandate utilization green investments.
