This research explores the potential influences of mindfulness and meditation practices on adolescent mental health in East Java, Indonesia. Adolescence is a critical period marked by significant physical emotional changes, making growing concern. Mindfulness have gained recognition globally as tools for enhancing well-being, but their effectiveness Java's cultural context remains underexplored. We employed mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative 145 sample surveys qualitative 5 informan interviews, to investigate this relationship comprehensively. The analysis revealed statistically positive impact outcomes, with variations based gender, age, socio-economic status. Qualitative findings highlighted significance these importance community family support. Despite attitudes, stigmatization issues challenge. These results emphasize need culturally tailored interventions that integrate traditional values address stigma, ultimately contributing well-being Javanese adolescents.

The concomitant presence of major depressive disorder (MDD) and opioid use (OUD) poses a formidable clinical challenge, warranting effective interventions that address both psychiatric addictive components. This study sought to compare the efficacy adjunctive ketamine buprenorphine in mitigating anxiety symptom severity craving intensity individuals with co-occurring MDD OUD. A randomized, double-blind trial was conducted, involving meeting diagnostic criteria for Participants were randomly assigned receive or buprenorphine, conjunction standard addiction treatments. Anxiety assessed using Hamilton Rating Scale (HAM-A), Opioid Craving after 2 h, 24 7 days. findings revealed distinct treatment trajectories, demonstrating rapid substantial reduction within hours administration, accompanied by pronounced decline intensity. In contrast, associated more gradual but sustained improvement symptoms over several days, paralleled modest initial craving, followed persistent attenuation. conclusion, this randomized provides evidence supporting Ketamine Buprenorphine reducing patients IRCT20211214053411N1.

Opioid use disorder (OUD), a serious health burden worldwide, is associated with lower cognitive function. Recent studies have demonstrated negative genetic correlation between OUD and general ability (COG), indicating shared basis. However, the specific variants involved, underlying molecular mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we aimed to quantify identify basis COG.

Abstract Opioid use disorder (OUD) has emerged as a severe, ongoing public health emergency. Current, frontline addiction treatment strategies fail to produce lasting abstinence in most users. This underscores the effects of chronic opioid exposure and emphasizes need understand molecular mechanisms drug seeking taking, but also how those alterations persist through acute protracted withdrawal. Here, we used RNA sequencing post-mortem human tissue from males (n=10) females with OUD age sex-matched comparison subjects. We compared nucleus accumbens (NAc) dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) between humans rodent models across distinct stages withdrawal (acute prolonged) using differential gene expression network-based approaches. found that signature NAc mirrored seen female mice at all exposure. Conversely, showed strong overlap profile rats Co-expression networks involved post-transcriptional modification epigenetic chromatin state. study provides fundamental insight into converging pathways altered by opioids species. Further, this work helps disentangle which observed are driven consequences

Abstract People can become prone to addiction due the interaction between nature and nurture. Opioids are one of addictive substances that have reached an epidemic level worldwide. For large proportion patients, hospitalizations for medical reasons, is few interactions patients with healthcare system potentially only opportunity receive opioid use screening. Due increase in global consumption, clinicians concerned about consequences using opioids medically ill patients. In this study, a comprehensive approach, we evaluated disorder its relevant risk factors inhospitalized patients. This cross-sectional analytical study was conducted wards General Educational hospital North Iran,Sampling done among 835 hospitalized different departments who were requested by their specialists consultation psychiatric service, The information collected obtained based on recorded data sheets, All diagnoses project DSM-5 diagnostic criteria. The rate 17%. highest OUD related age group 25 40 years 20.6%, men 19.7%, divorced 21.1%, diploma bachelor's education 21.3%.In terms comorbid disease, cardiovascular disease 21.7%, followed gastrointestinal 14%. Most observed laboratory disturbance positive urine toxicology test, test variable had statistically significant relationship (P-value<0.001). psychiatry disorders, 9.9% them cluster B personality disorder, 7.8% depressive 5% anxiety 2.1% bipolar disorder. The findings our research showed men, years, being having educational degree higher.
