Antioxidant potential is defined as the ability to neutralize oxygen free radicals that are generated in excess due environmental influences. The body's defense mechanisms often require support preventing effects of oxidative stress. literature data suggest curcumin has antioxidant activity can significantly reduce stress levels. aim was assess impact on markers.PubMed and Embase were searched from database inception until 27 September 2019 for randomized clinical trials >20 patients treated with supplements placebo/no intervention/physical verify curcumin.Four studies included meta-analysis, three which double-blind one single-blind. A total 308 participants took part research. 40% respondents men. average age 27.60 ± 3.79 years. supplementation time 67 days dose administered 645 mg/24 h. Curcumin increased capacity (TAC) (SMD = 2.696, Z 2.003, CI 95%, p 0.045) had a tendency decrease malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration -1.579, -1.714, 0.086).Pure MDA increase capacity.

Dyslipidemia is an important and common cardiovascular risk factor in the general population. The lipid-lowering effects of turmeric curcumin are unconfirmed. We performed a meta-analysis to assess efficacy safety lowering blood lipids patients at disease (CVD). A comprehensive literature search was conducted on PubMed, Embase, Ovid, Medline Cochrane Library databases identify randomized controlled trials (published as November 2016) that assessed effect lipid levels including total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C), high-density (HDL-C), triglycerides (TG). Pooled standardized mean difference (SMD) with 95% confidence interval (CI) used effect. analysis included 7 eligible studies (649 patients). Turmeric significantly reduced serum LDL-C (SMD = −0.340, [CI]: −0.530 −0.150, P < 0.0001) TG −0.214, CI: −0.369 −0.059, 0.007) compared those control group. These may be effective TC metabolic syndrome (MetS, SMD −0.934, −1.289 −0.579, 0.0001), extract could possibly have greater reducing −0.584, −0.980 −0.188, 0.004); however, yet confirmed. Serum HDL-C were not obviously improved. appeared safe, no serious adverse events reported any studies. protect CVD through improving levels. Curcumin well-tolerated dietary adjunct conventional drugs. Further research required resolve uncertainties related dosage form, dose medication frequency curcumin.

Curcumin (1,7-bis-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-hepta-1,6-diene-3,5-dione) is a natural lipophilic polyphenol that exhibits significant pharmacological effects in vitro and vivo through various mechanisms of action. Numerous studies have identified characterised the pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, clinical properties curcumin. has an anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, antinociceptive, antiparasitic, antimalarial effect, it used as wound-healing agent. However, poor curcumin absorption small intestine, fast metabolism, systemic elimination cause bioavailability human beings. In order to overcome these problems, number formulations been developed. The aim this paper provide overview recent research biological pharmaceutical aspects curcumin, methods sample preparation for its isolation (Soxhlet extraction, ultrasound pressurised fluid microwave enzyme-assisted aided extraction), analytical (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman, UV-VIS, NMR, XRD, DSC, TLC, HPLC, HPTLC, LC-MS, UPLC/Q-TOF-MS) identification quantification different matrices, techniques developing formulations. optimal use appropriate method will significantly improve evaluation activity

Nutraceuticals are dietary supplements, utilized to ameliorate health, delay senescence, prevent diseases, and support the proper functioning of human body. Currently, nutraceuticals gaining substantial attention due nutrition therapeutic potentials. Based on their sources, they categorized as supplements herbal bioactive compounds. The global market for nutraceutical is huge i.e. approximately USD 117 billion. Herbal helps in maintaining health promoting optimal longevity, quality life. Studies have shown promising results treat several such cancer, neurodegenerative cardiovascular etc. In present review, an overview various ingredients that act (carbohydrates, lipids, edible flowers, alkaloids, medicinal plants, etc.) role benefits, has been discussed. Further application prevention diseases also
