Abstract
This
study
investigates
the
temporal
and
spatial
distribution
of
species
richness
in
Turkish
portions
Euphrates
Tigris
catchments
Mesopotamia,
aiming
to
identify
areas
lacking
sufficient
research
inform
future
conservation
management
efforts.
Data
from
153
fish
assemblages
catchment
100
catchment,
spanning
1941
2022,
were
analysed
using
a
combination
analytical
occurrence,
space‐for‐time
mixed
effect
models.
Results
indicate
an
increase
reported
over
time,
attributed
heightened
sampling
efforts,
reveal
significant
differences
influenced
by
uneven
environmental
suitability.
Identification
with
insufficient
research,
potential
undetected
biodiversity
losses
highlights
need
for
improved
assessments
prevent
unnoticed
loss
ecosystem
degradation.

Globalisation

rates

biological
invasions
worldwide,
leading

environmental
perturbations

expanding
socio-economic
