Abstract Free-text analysis using machine learning (ML)-based natural language processing (NLP) shows promise for diagnosing psychiatric conditions. Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (ChatGPT) has demonstrated preliminary initial feasibility this purpose; however, whether it can accurately assess mental illness remains to be determined. This study evaluates the effectiveness of ChatGPT and text-embedding-ada-002 (ADA) model in detecting post-traumatic stress disorder following childbirth (CB-PTSD), a maternal postpartum affecting millions women annually, with no standard screening protocol. Using sample 1295 who gave birth last six months were 18+ years old, recruited through hospital announcements, social media, professional organizations, we explore ChatGPT’s ADA’s potential screen CB-PTSD by analyzing narratives. The PTSD Checklist DSM-5 (PCL-5; cutoff 31) was used CB-PTSD. By developing an ML that utilizes numerical vector representation ADA model, identify via narrative classification. Our outperformed (F1 score: 0.81) previously published large text-embedding models trained on health or clinical domains data, suggesting harnessed modeling approach could generalized other disorders.

This study examined if considerably different caregiving experiences in infancy influence socio-emotional development later childhood. We included children aged 6-9 years who were, immediately after birth, placed quality state-run institutions (N = 24) or foster care with one family 23). All have lived stable families since their adoption before 15 months of age. Children the comparison group always biological parents 25). found that previously institutionalized had significantly more behavioral problems, dissociative symptoms, and lower empathic behavior scores than group. The fostered also exhibited problems symptoms but, notably, fewer findings underscore beneficial role compared to institutional consistency early play a crucial development.

Concerning previously published studies, we have assessed if disrupted before adoption infancy could related to heightened levels dissociative symptoms middle childhood. This chapter explores the collaboration between schools, families, and communities in strengthening Social Emotional Learning (SEL). It highlights how integrated SEL efforts enhance student well-being, academic success, social competence through consistent support across multiple environments. Strategies for family engagement include workshops, home-based activities, culturally responsive practices. The also examines community partnerships with local organizations, mentorship programs, mental health services to extend beyond classroom. Case studies showcase successful school-community collaborations marginalized areas, addressing challenges like limited resources, cultural barriers, policy constraints. Finally, it offers recommendations sustaining initiatives strategic partnerships, advocacy, systemic integration.

Social disadvantage has been associated with early socioemotional difficulties. This study examined mechanisms that relate prenatal social (PSD) to the development of problems by testing whether these associations were mediated (1) neonatal brain volumes and/or (2) parenting behaviors. Women recruited in their pregnancies and followed prospectively. PSD encompassed access material (e.g., income-to-needs, health insurance, area deprivation, nutrition, education) resources during pregnancy. Shortly after birth, neonates underwent structural magnetic resonance scanning. Mother-child dyads returned at child age 1 year for observations, parents reported socio-emotional (ITSEA: externalizing, dysregulation, internalizing) 2 years (N=267; 45% female). Simple parallel mediation models tested hypotheses. Greater was increased externalizing dysregulation symptoms years. PSD-associated reductions (cortical grey matter, white total brain) both PSD-externalizing PSD-dysregulation associations. The association additionally behaviors, particularly non-supportive Thus, symptoms, behaviors mediating metrics simultaneously models. Non-supportive remained a significant mediator, while no longer significant. alterations birth may serve as risk factors multidimensional difficulties toddlerhood. Abstract Background Early detection and intervention of borderline personality disorder (BPD) in adolescence has become a public health priority. Theoretical models emphasize the role social interactions transgenerational mechanisms development suggesting closer look at caregiver-child relationships. Methods The current study investigated mother-adolescent their association with adolescent BPD traits by using case–control design. Thirty-eight patients ≥ 3 mothers (BPD-G) were contrast to 35 healthy control dyads (HC-G). Maternal, dyadic behavior was coded Coding Interactive Behavior Manual (CIB) during two interactions: fun day planning stress paradigm. Additional effects maternal and/or early life maltreatment (ELM) on also explored. Results BPD-G displayed significantly lower quality maternal, than HC-G both interactions. Maternal predicted alone, whilst influenced general psychopathology. Exploratory analyses CIB subscales showed that increased reciprocal compared planning, decreased it. ELM did not differ between groups or have any effect behavior. Adolescent correlated behavioral outcome variables, but explain outcomes above beyond clinical status. Discussion/Conclusion Our data suggest stronger focus parent–child BPD-specific therapies enhance long-term treatment patients. Further research employing designs allow bidirectional transactions (e.g. longitudinal design, microcoding) is needed.
