ABSTRACT Young people living in out‐of‐home care often have a history of adverse childhood experiences which are traumatic nature and long‐term influence on individuals. This article analyses the Finnish young adults with mental health challenges, regard to their experienced trauma interpretations traumatizing factors during early lifespan. The ecological systems theory by Bronfenbrenner is used as tool analysis. sheds light how connected levels different social can contribute experience trauma. Understanding adolescents an OOHC background requires thorough consideration all theory. Traumatization fusion acute, chronic complex traumas that should be better acknowledged child welfare work.
