Implant restoration, a predictive procedure for edentulous areas, can suffer from early failure due to several factors. While thorough debridement of the extraction socket is standard practice implant placement, unintentional remnant occur. This case report presents an following placement and guided bone regeneration. Radiological examination revealed radiopaque material around implant, prompting removal subsequent biopsy. The histological analysis identified area surrounding as granulation tissue containing chronic inflammatory cells, while hard exhibited hypercementosis or periapical cemento-osseoeous dysplasia. These findings suggest into previous extraction. highlights importance after tooth Moreover, pre-implant radiological evaluation necessary avoid associated with unintentionally retaining lesion.

Abstract Introduction Hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (HED) patients suffering of oligo‐anodontia require early dental treatment to improve oral functions and reduce social impairment. The aim this study was evaluate the skeletal growth, implant prosthetic survival rate, success, complications after rehabilitation with a maxillary denture an implant‐supported overdenture provided by sliding bar in case severe hypodontia/anodontia related HED. Materials Methods This retrospective cohort began 2009. Nine over 7 years old HED associated who presented at University Bologna for were included study. They first treated conventional dentures then connected two implants placed anterior mandible. subjects followed 3–12 years. In each case, orthopanoramic lateral cephalometric radiographic exam taken before placement annually load. Vertical transverse dimensions mandible symphysis area sites on radiography time 5 from loading assess presence or absence mandibular growth. Biologic mechanical also recorded every visit. Results A vertical growth under apex, neck, sagittal observed measured. Implant success rates 100% 8.1 (mean) follow‐up period. No reported except one patient, where repositioning retentive cap counter superstructure necessary 3 loading. Conclusions present suggests that near continues even their positioning. Implants can be successfully provide support preteens

The effect of microthreads at the implant neck on amount marginal bone resorption is controversial. This multicenter retrospective study compared survival rate and between two platform-switching internal connection systems with or without microthreads. Patient-related (age sex), surgery-related (implant installation site, type, diameter, length), prosthesis-related (prosthesis type) data were collected from patient charts placement surgery to final recall visit. A total 1780 implants, including 1379 401 microthreads, placed in 804 patients. For implants longest follow-up period after prosthesis delivery was 15 6 years, respectively. Twenty failed during 15-year (98.8% rate) due osseointegration, peri-implantitis, fractures, non-functioning implants. mean loss < 0.1 mm for both 1-year 0.18 0.09 4-year respectively, statistical significance. Microthreads did not significantly affect an a design.

The relationship between bacterial infiltration and internal conical Implant-Abutment Interfaces (IAIs) with different conicities still requires investigations that can offer valuable information in the clinical understanding of peri-implant health. present study aimed to verify two connections an angulation 11.5° 16° external hexagonal connection as a comparative after thermomechanical cycling using saliva contaminant. Test (n = 10) control 3) groups were set up. Evaluations made on torque loss, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Micro Computerized Tomography (MicroCT) performing 2 × 106 mechanical cycles (120 N) 600 thermal (5°-55° C) mm lateral displacement. contents IAI collected for microbiological analysis. There was difference (p < 0.05) loss tested; from obtained lower percentage loss. All presented contamination analysis results shows profile differs qualitatively found used contamination. loading affects IAIs 0.05). Background: The long-term maintenance of implants and the prostheses they support depends on many factors. Specifically, patient's biotype is important where presence a significant thickness keratinized gingiva should ensure real biological seal, whose formation also influenced by healing screw. screws normally used are made titanium; however, their cost induces dentist to use them for improper single use. possibility using materials other than titanium such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) construction can therefore be advantageous. Objectives: aim this experimental clinical study test new PTFE exploiting chemical-physical characteristics undoubted economic advantages. Materials methods: 10 patients were taken into consideration 2 inserted in each. In each patient second phase, screw inserted. After 7 days, removed allow analysis under an electron microscope. Results: SEM showed that surface has ability accumulate much less organic material control screws. Furthermore, have been shown reduce level inflammation induced reuse compared traditional Conclusions: reduced screw, together with intrinsic material, represent promising characteristics, which make advantageous practice.

The objective of the present study was to evaluate 5-year outcome dental implant therapy and assess survival, success, biological technical complications. A periodontal prosthetic-oriented evaluation conducted on variables that can influence long-term predictability therapy. total 615 patients 1427 implants from a private clinic (MedArtis Dent, Cluj-Napoca, Romania) were enrolled in study. longitudinal cohort with data collected retrospectively physical/digital records combination cross-sectional clinical/radiological examination. Results showed diagnosis at baseline had significant impact marginal bone loss prediction. Data cylindrical an internal 45° medium taper connection experienced higher rate resorption compared tapered 5° connection. Screw-retained restorations overdentures statistical decrease level height when cemented restorations. our suggest not only is there powerful association between recall visits complications treatment, but lack professional maintenance predicts during interval.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate survival rate, marginal bone levels, and full arch prosthetic success on short implants when placed in areas of severely resorbed edentulous mandibles. Methods: is a systematic review all randomized controlled trials at least 10 patients with control group which augmentations were performed that published between January 2010 February 2023. Only three relevant studies met the inclusion criteria. Results: showed short-term dental implant rates ranged from 94.2% 97.4% five-year follow-up, around 62% during same follow-up. The mean level values affected 0.2 mm 0.6 mm. Conclusions: data obtained demonstrated positioned criterion precision as full-arch fixed support are valid therapeutic choice for medium–long-term rehabilitation severe mandibular atrophy.

Background: The aim of the present study was to highlight clinical and radiographical differences among implants sharing same macro-geometry but with two different prosthodontic connections. Methods: Patients requiring at least 2 in posterior area jaw were randomly divided into groups (Conical (CS) Internal Hexagonal (IH) connection). At implant surgery (T0), insertion torque, stability quotient (ISQ values recorded by resonance frequency analysis, RFA), soft tissue thickness (STH) assessed. A 1-abutment/1-time protocol applied, prosthesis realized following a fully digital workflow. 36-month follow-up periapical x-rays taken. In order statistically analyse variables, paired T-test used. Linear regression analysis conducted analyze how marginal bone loss (MBL) affected other independent variables. neural network created predict success (good or not good) itself implemented. Dental implants have been used as an effective treatment for missing teeth. implantology has a long history that reaches back to ancient times when attempts were made replace teeth with various materials. Modern dental are designed osseointegrate, where the implant fixture fuses jawbone. The surgical procedure involves placing implant, followed by adaptation of surrounding tissue. There two main techniques: one-stage surgery and two-stage surgery. One-stage allowing healing abutment protrude through gums. This eliminates need second but carries risk overloading during phase. Two-stage is standard approach, initially submerged, performed connect abutment. choice between depends on many factors, including bone quality, clinical parameters, aesthetic considerations. offers quick aesthetics can pose higher failure due early loading. provides success rate requires procedures.
