Fluid-Dynamic Crestal Sinus Floor Elevation in Atrophic Posterior Maxilla Implant Rehabilitation with Hyaluronic Acid: A Prospective Study

Implant-prosthetic
rehabilitation
of
the
posterior
edentulous
maxilla
is
challenging
due
to
inadequate
bone
volume
resulting
from
alveolar
ridge
resorption
and
maxillary
sinus
pneumatization.
This
study
explores
use
hyaluronic
acid
(HA)
as
a
biomaterial
in
elevation,
particularly
combination
with
fluid
dynamic
approach,
an
alternative
traditional
lateral
approaches
granular
biomaterials.
Methods:
A
prospective
was
conducted
on
58
patients
edentulism.
Preoperative
CBCT
scans
assessed
residual
height
width.
minimally
invasive
surgical
protocol
utilizing
device
for
fluid-dynamic
membrane
elevation
injection
2%
cross-linked
employed,
followed
by
simultaneous
implant
placement.
Postoperative
follow-up
included
scan
at
12
months
evaluate
new
height,
measured
mesially
distally.
Implant
stability
using
resonance
frequency
analysis
second-stage
surgery.
Results:
significant
increase
observed
post-surgery,
average
gain
7.5
mm.
All
implants
achieved
primary
stability,
no
failures
or
signs
peri-implantitis
were
noted
during
period.

Conclusions:
The
transcrestal
floor
technique
combined
appears
be
effective
method
achieving
regeneration
maxilla,
facilitating
implant-prosthetic
potentially
low
risks
morbidity.
Further
large-scale
studies
are
warranted
validate
these
findings
across
diverse
clinical
scenarios.
