Previous neuroimaging studies have identified functional and structural changes in the gray matter of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) patients, yet genetic mechanisms behind these alterations remain unclear. We employed multimodal imaging to investigate RRD patients. A transcriptome-neuroimaging spatial correlation analysis, integrating gene expression data from Allen Human Brain Atlas, genes linked stability changes. followed this with enrichment, protein–protein interaction (PPI) network mapping, profiling. patients showed distinct, sustained dynamic balance within default mode functionally, a significant reduction volume visual region structurally, compared healthy controls. Transcriptome-neuroimaging analysis revealed link between profiles 165 involved membrane organization, neurodegeneration, phagocytosis, calcium signaling. These form highly interconnected PPI network, centered around key hub genes. Tissue- cell-specific highlighted distinct pattern, especially D1 receptor–positive cells caudate-putamen. Our findings indicate function structure particularly regions cognitive processing. Transcriptomic reveals that are multiple genes, shedding light on potential underlying RRD-associated modifications offering new insights for treatment prognosis.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a prevalent neurodegenerative disorder traditionally defined by its motor symptoms yet increasingly recognized for wide spectrum of neuropsychiatric (NPS) including anxiety, depression, apathy, impulse-control behaviors, and hallucinations. Recent neuroimaging advances have provided crucial insights into the neural substrates underlying these comorbidities. Structural imaging studies, using voxel-based morphometry T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging, revealed regional atrophy in frontal cortex, striatum, limbic areas, occipital regions. In comparison, functional positron emission tomography, single-photon computed resting-state MRI identified abnormal network connectivity circuits implicated fear processing, reward regulation, cognitive control. Overall, studies suggest shared distinct pathophysiology PD-related NPS, emphasizing need longitudinal, multimodal investigations to inform targeted therapeutic strategies improve clinical outcomes.

The topological attributes of structural covariance networks (SCNs) based on fractal dimension (FD) and changes in brain network connectivity were investigated using graph theory network-based statistics (NBS) patients with noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). High-resolution 3D T1 images 40 NIHL 38 healthy controls (HCs) analyzed. FD-based Pearson correlation coefficients calculated converted to Fisher's Z construct the SCNs. Topological hubs theory. measures between groups compared nonparametric permutation tests. Abnormal connection identified NBS analysis. group showed a significantly increased normalized clustering coefficient, characteristic path length, decreased nodal efficiency right medial orbitofrontal gyrus. Additionally, betweenness centrality degree both transverse temporal gyrus left parahippocampal group. analysis revealed two subnetworks abnormal connections. subnetwork enhanced connections was mainly distributed default mode, frontoparietal, dorsal attention, somatomotor networks, whereas reduced limbic, visual, auditory networks. Parkinson's disease is characterized by multiple neurotransmitter systems beyond the traditional dopaminergic pathway, yet their influence on volumetric alterations not well comprehended.
