Abstract Interleukin‐18 (IL‐18) is a vital pro‐inflammatory cytokine crucial for immune regulation. Despite its significance, bibliometric analysis in this field lacking. This study aims to quantitatively and qualitatively assess IL‐18 research construct intellectual base predict future hotspots. We conducted thorough search on the Web of Science Core Collection relevant publications between 1 January 2012 31 December 2022. English‐language articles reviews were included. Visual was performed using various tools including VOSviewer, Citespace, Microsoft Excel. Our covers interleukin‐18 literature from 2022, exploring trends comprehensively. Key institutions like Yale University Shanghai Jiao Tong emerged as significant contributors. Prolific authors such Kanneganti Dinarello made notable contributions. Main focus areas included biology, medicine, immunology. Co‐citation highlighted influential works Jianjin Shi. Hotspot keyword frequency cluster revealed emerging themes pyroptosis psoriasis. Gene co‐occurrence clustering identified genes associated with regulation inflammation. GO KEGG pathway enrichment provided insights into IL‐18‐related biological processes pathways. Protein–protein interaction networks core proteins IL10 TNF. Association disease linked inflammatory, autoimmune, metabolic disorders. review offers over past decade, guiding investigations serving reference researchers field.
