Abstract Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects 10–15% globally and is a marked independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Prevalence estimations are essential public health planning implementation of CKD treatment strategies. This study aimed to estimate the prevalence stages in population-based Lolland-Falster Health Study, set rural provincial area with lowest socioeconomic status Denmark. Additionally, characterized participants CKD, evaluated overall recognition, including awareness compared it other common conditions. Cross-sectional data were obtained from clinical examinations, biochemical analyses, questionnaires. was defined as albuminuria (urine albumin–creatinine ratio ≥30 mg/g), estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) <60 ml/min/1.73 m², or by diagnosis National Patient Register. assessed self-reported recognition either registered hospital CKD. Among 16 097 adults (median age 58.6 years), 18.0% (n = 2903), 70.1% identified albuminuria, 28.4% reduced eGFR, 1.5% alone. Of those 98.8% had 1–3 (eGFR m²), 1.2% 4–5 <30 m²). Female sex, comorbidities, smoking, low parameters independently associated 4.4%, >50% hypertension >80% diabetes, (self-reported diagnosis) 7.1%. Thus, this study, highly prevalent but poorly recognized, indicating great potential preventing progression related complications.

Diabetes is associated with an increased risk of thromboembolism. However, the effects apixaban, a factor Xa inhibitor on diabetic nephropathy, remain unknown. Six-week-old Wistar rats received single 60 mg/kg intraperitoneal injection streptozotocin to produce model type 1 diabetes. Type and non-diabetic control were treated or without apixaban orally for 8 weeks, blood kidneys obtained biochemical, real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) morphological analyses. Although treatment did not affect glycemic lipid parameters, it significantly (p < 0.01) inhibited increases in advanced glycation end products (AGEs), receptor AGEs (RAGE) mRNA protein levels, 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG), NADPH oxidase-driven superoxide generation at 14 weeks old. Compared rats, gene expression levels monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1), transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), connective tissue (CTGF), fibronectin 14-week-old which enhanced renal kidney injury (KIM-1) Mac-3, extracellular matrix accumulation kidneys, elevated urinary excretion KIM-1, all by apixaban. Urine KIM-1 positively correlated (r = 0.690) 8-OHdG 0.793) serum 0.823). Our present findings suggest that could ameliorate streptozotocin-induced partly blocking AGE-RAGE-oxidative stress axis kidneys.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a medical condition characterized by impaired function, which leads to inadequate blood filtration. To reduce mortality rates, recent advancements in early diagnosis and treatment have been made. However, as time-consuming, an automated system necessary. Researchers employing various machine learning approaches analyze extensive complex data, aiding clinicians predicting CKD enabling intervention. Identifying the most crucial attributes for this paper's primary objective. address gap, six nature-inspired algorithms nine classifiers were compared evaluate their combined effectiveness detecting CKD. A benchmark dataset from UCI repository was utilized analysis. The proposed model outperforms other with remarkable 99.5% accuracy rate; it also achieves 58% reduction feature dimensionality. By providing reliable, cost-effective tool detection, authors aim revolutionize patient care.

Abstract Context Cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) syndrome is a recently introduced term that complex disease consisting of cardiovascular disease, renal obesity, and diabetes. The association social determinants health (SDOH) with CKM not fully known. Objective We aimed to assess SDOH affecting among adult patients diabetes at follow-up tertiary hospital in Ethiopia. Methods A cross-sectional hospital-based study was used. Data were collected using Kobo toolbox entered into SPSS version 29 for further analysis. Results total 422 included this study. mean ± SD age the 54.14 13.74 years. Fifty-two percent male. In study, 52.4% had kidney metabolic syndrome. Male (AOR: 1.73; 95% CI, 1.01-2.94), lost more than year due lack money 2.69; 1.01-7.22), missed an appointment transportation past 1 2.98; 1.21-7.33), disability 1.97; 1.12-3.48), hypertension 3.12; 1.85-5.28), obesity 2.27, 1.17, 4.40), retirement 2.12; 1.04-4.30) these being significantly associated Conclusion More half attention should be given SDOH, including male sex, financial constraints, issues, disability, retirement.
