The
pandemic
has
prompted
the
adoption
of
online,
modular,
and
blended
learning
modalities,
emphasizing
importance
integrating
these
in
daily
teaching
processes.
Problem-solving
skills,
considered
crucial
for
21st-century
decision-making,
are
also
essential.
This
study
aimed
to
analyze
level
problem-solving
skills
freshmen
college
students
Sulu
State
College
(i)
modular
learning,
(ii)
online
(iii)
learning.
Purposive
sampling
was
used
sample
A
questionnaire
adapted
from
related
studies
elicit
quantitative
data
using
a
5-point
modified
Likert
Scale.
were
randomly
sampled
(n=119)
six
schools
college.
Findings
indicated
that
at
demonstrated
high
competence
across
three
modalities.
Each
modality
offered
unique
benefits
effectively
enhanced
students'
mathematical
abilities.
In
felt
confident
managing
math
problems
independently
highlighting
empowerment
self-learning
capacity
inherent
this
approach.
Online
proved
effective,
with
showing
because
flexibility
accessibility.
Blended
particularly
beneficial,
reporting

levels

A
recent
report
by
the
Royal
Society
examined
literature
on
effectiveness
of
non-pharmaceutical
interventions
(NPIs)
aimed
at
reducing
transmission
SARS-CoV-2
during
COVID-19
pandemic.
It
emphatically
concluded
that
they
were
'effective',
which
we
argue
may
be
misleading
to
policymakers.
This
paper
performs
a
critical
analysis
and
explains
what
proper
evaluation
NPIs
would
mean,
arguing
theory-based
evaluations
are
required
approach
complex
issues
nurture
democratic
debates
societal
choices.
We
that,
first,
testing
relationship
between
NPI
their
in
over
bounded
period
(a
single
outcome)
is
irrelevant
for
policymaking,
because
several
criteria
must
balanced
evaluate
any
intervention,
including
efficiency,
equity,
acceptability,
long-term
impacts,
sustainability.

value.

Abstract
We
introduce
a
novel
state‐level
measure
of
lockdown
regulatory
freedom
to
study
the
severity
lockdowns
for
Brazilian
states
and
its
determinants.
Our
main
results
show
that
policies
were
not
consistently
determined
by
any
health‐related
variable,
such
as
number
doctors,
hospital
beds,
share
population
with
private
health
insurance,
or
65
years
age
older
Covid‐19
cases
deaths.
Indeed,
only
variable

all
specifications

Abstract
This
chapter
discusses
six
political
forms
of
neoliberalism,
from
the
point
view
order.
First,
neoliberalism’s
oldest
and
recurrent
form
is
authoritarianism,
which
most
clearly
expresses
constitutive
unease
with
democracy.
Secondly,
diametrically
opposed
to
it,
there
governance
as
newest
closely
associated
today,
meant
bring
back
a
modicum
democracy,
deceptively
shall
be
argued.
A
third
form,
technocracy,
provides
much
content
guiding
principles
governance,
likes
fashion
itself
rational
problem-solving,
while
eschewing
right–left
distinction.
The
fourth
fifth
federation
constitutionalism,
are
exemplarily
combined
in
European
Union,
this
highlights
model
case
neoliberal
polity.
Finally,
meritocracy,
less
rule
than
central
legitimizing
formula
competitive
society
that
neoliberalism
seeks
build.
