The use of metaphors to talk about cancer experiences has attracted much research and debate, especially in the case military metaphors. However, questions remain what are used by different populations for aspects experience. This scoping review aims answer them.We searched PubMed, PsycINFO, CINAHL, Scopus Web Science databases. Eligible sources include peer-reviewed scientific published English between 2013 2023, investigating patterns metaphor from adult (age ≥18) cancer-related topics, such as itself, general experience being ill, treatment, people relationships.Out 1929 articles identified, 30 met criteria, spanning over populations. While most papers focused on general, some specific types, breast cancer. Both spontaneous elicited data were collected ten languages: mostly (N=12), Swedish (N=3) Arabic (N=3). identified subsumed under various broad categories, including particularly violence journey. To provide patient-centred care, clinicians researchers should avoid blanket conclusions helpful or unhelpful metaphors, but consider ways which contexts.

Background:The objective of this study was to explore the impact COVID-19 on lived experiences patients with cancer in Lebanon.Methods: We adopted a descriptive phenomenological approach.We included adults who had been diagnosed before pandemic and undergoing treatment at American University Beirut Medical Centre.We conducted virtual, semi-structured in-depth interviews either video or audio recordings.Two team members coded transcripts independently identified common themes patterns. Results:We recruited 11 participants for study.The analysis following six themes: perceived seriousness COVID-19, fear versus cancer, coping mechanisms, availability accessibility, compliance public health social measures precautionary healthcare system.The mechanisms staying positive, seeking normalcy, using family support, religiosity fatalism. Conclusion:Faced many challenges during pandemic, resorted range strategies.

The aim of this study is to explore the experiences gynaecological cancer patients during COVID-19 pandemic from their own perspectives.The a descriptive with qualitative design based on thematic analysis. We conducted 17 women and receiving chemotherapy in Medical Oncology Chemotherapy Unit Kütahya Training Research Hospital. data were collected between April 2021 May via an in-depth individual interview form. COREQ checklist was followed study.As result interviews, we identified four main themes: impacts life, impact treatment, biggest fear metaphors struggling pandemic.The disruption treatment services women's infection by virus led delays diagnosis treatment. This situation caused state health deteriorate, resultant regret sadness that they experienced had adverse effect mental health. Furthermore, self-isolation due negative psychosocial Telehealth should be provided for obtain accurate information easily access about processes pandemic, telepsychological hotlines peer support groups established improve patients.

Objectives: This study aimed to determine the relationship between fear of COVID-19 and menopausal symptoms in women during period.
