Understanding the emotional impact of climate change (CC), its education and communication processes on young people is essential to identify what motivates their engagement in action. We have analysed experiences secondary school students south Spain (N = 1,050) develop a tool for exploring CC, relationship education, participation among people. While there no clear bias towards CC overall sample, significant differences these depend variables listed above. Formal (educational grade curricular greening) tends increase worry, powerlessness fear, decrease positive emotions. This qualitative serial picture analysis of Swedish children's drawings, predominately from spring 2020 ( N = 169), aimed to explore their views and meaning‐making processes. There is a strong body of evidence that points to the mental health and well‐being benefits nature alongside growing based on green social prescribing. Purpose This study aims to comparatively analyse the intensity of eco-anxiety among Brazilian and Portuguese university students, elucidating their perceptions, emotions primary coping strategies used. Design/methodology/approach A qualitative approach was used, based on semi-structured interviews with 19 students. Data analysis used Bardin’s (1977) content framework, Hogg Eco-Anxiety Scale (Hogg et al. , 2021). Findings Despite cultural differences, participants exhibit similar levels emotional distress in response climate crisis, manifesting feelings concern, frustration, helplessness, fear anguish. These emotions, turn, have tangible impacts students’ daily lives, affecting sleep, concentration, interpersonal relationships overall mental health. while recognising urgency appear more inclined experience guilt individual helplessness systemic terms. Conversely, students emphasise need for concrete actions at both collective levels, expressing frustration perceived political social inaction from a historical perspective. Originality/value Eco-anxiety emerges as significant cross-cultural phenomenon young complex multifaceted manner. Objective To explore the relationship between mental health and physical activity (PA) in middle school students, examining roles of negative emotions self-efficacy relationship.
