Conservation

landscapes,
with

The
expansion
of
agricultural
lands
threatens
biodiversity
maintenance
across
the
tropics.
Although
some
agroforestry
systems
may
be
biodiversity-friendly,
their
conservation
value
likely
depends
on
landscape
and
regional
contexts
in
which
they
are
embedded—a
poorly
tested
hypothesis.
We
assessed
shaded
cocoa
agroforests
for
bees
social
wasps,
evaluated
whether
such
remaining
forest
cover
at
and/or
scales.
Using
a
paired
design,
we
compared
α-
(species
number)
β-diversity
each
taxon
between
neighbouring
rainforests
30
landscapes
from
three
regions
with
different
deforestation
levels

Atlantic

Cocoa
held
more
bee
wasp
than
forests,
habitats

moderate
