Although the trends of international reports show an increase in overweight and obesity, even developing countries, there are still areas world, such as Sub-Saharan Africa, strongly affected by undernutrition. Specifically, Madagascar, percentage stunted children under 5 is extremely high. Furthermore, COVID-19 pandemic expected to risk all forms malnutrition, especially low-income including with serious intergenerational repercussions. This narrative review aims at investigating eating habits cooking methods Malagasy population, addressing sustainable healthy diets through promotion novel foods. While foods a recent concept, data that describe how they may contribute counteract food insecurity malnutrition considering context place. Efforts promote native, traditional Moringa oleifera, indigenous plant Asia Africa rich protein micronutrients, well edible insects, alternative source protein, lipids, iron, zinc, would provide not only nutritional but also cultural economic benefits. The potential synergies between traditions agroecology have impact health larger issues sustainability security. Regional, national, policies needed develop support one approach actions.

Abstract Armophorid ciliates of family Clevelandellidae represent ecologically interesting symbionts hosts: wood-eating cockroaches subfamily Panesthiinae unrelated to the termite/Cryptocercus lineage. Moreover, these protists exhibit a peculiar morphology, with posteriorization oral structures being most striking their unique characters. Despite that, is relatively understudied, only handful morphologically novel species described since its erection more than 80 years ago. Recently, however, several clevelandellid were solely on basis molecular characters and it has been suggested that morphology should be abandoned in favour purely taxonomy. In our study we report diversity from widest host spectrum assessed so far, characterize majority previously species, describe six new Clevelandella species. By applying an integrative taxonomical approach, using modern morphological methods, demonstrate pitfalls approach show still place taxonomy Clevelandellidae. thanks combination observations vivo cells, protargol preparations, scanning electron microscopy (used for first time Clevelandellidae), able clarify uncertainties previous works discuss various peculiarities
