This paper introduces the traveling salesman problem with a truck and drone under incomplete information (TSP-DI). TSP-DI is motivated by deliveries of emergency supplies unknown road conditions in immediate aftermath disastrous event. The urgency may force dispatch relief vehicles, such that damages blocking truck's planned route are detected 'on-the-fly'. transport must schedule anticipating possible unplanned detours, enforce (planned) detours for early checking key segments, consider dynamic nature condition information. In this paper, we perform competitive analysis widely used delivery policy practice – online re-optimization (Reopt) compare it to several alternative strategies. Purpose The purpose of this research is to address the challenges selecting optimal drones for disaster response operations under uncertainties. Traditional static (deterministic) models often fail capture complexities and uncertainties scenarios. This study aims develop a more resilient adaptable decision-making framework by integrating best-worst method (BWM) with stratified multi-criteria (SMCDM), focusing on various uncertainty scenarios such as weather conditions, communication navigation control issues. Design/methodology/approach methodology involves identifying seven essential criteria drone evaluation, guided contingency theory. BWM derives weights each criterion comparing best worst alternatives. SMCDM incorporates different into process. Automation failures in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UASs) significantly lead to a decrease overall system performance, an increase operator workload, and deterioration automation trust. This study investigates how the frequency intensity of differ multi-subsystem environments. An improved automated MATB (Multi-Attribute Task Battery) paradigm was used quantify failure at four levels. Through operational experiments incorporating eye-tracking technology, we examined effects different levels on dependent variables. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, nonparametric tests, revealing that while deteriorated trust, task not all variables showed consistent changes across levels, indicating presence plateau effect certain cases. Trust negatively mediated participants’ perceptions workload context failure. These results suggest contexts can have differing operators, especially complex socio-technical systems involving multiple subsystems, which should be generalized regarding whether they fail or not. In practical applications, designers could consider trust (through personnel training, design, etc.) reduce negative impact performance workload.

Abstract This paper considers a last‐mile delivery system in which drones are used to deliver parcels customers within predefined delivery‐time limit, while can perform multiple multivisit trips. The effects of both drone speed and load weight considered on energy consumption all flight phases, including takeoff, cruise, hovering, landing using realistic nonconvex formula. problem determines the routes their speeds during cruise with aim minimizing total consumed energy. initially examines for discrete case where selected from finite list options. initial formulation is mixed‐integer nonlinear program that cannot be solved efficiently. Using novel approach changes problem's input space, linear proposed enhanced by valid inequalities. Utilizing an efficient preprocessing algorithm, able solve instances up 100 customers. Severe earthquakes, extreme floods, tragic accidents, mega-fires, and even viruses belong to disasters that can destroy the economic, social, or cultural life of people. Due climate crisis, will likely become more frequent intense over years. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones) have obtained an increasing role in disaster management, which was particularly evident during COVID-19 pandemic. However, lack social acceptability remains a limiting factor drone usage. Drones as means state surveillance—possibly mass surveillance—are subject certain limits since their advanced monitoring technology, including Artificial Intelligence, may affect human rights, such right privacy. severity pandemic, has been described “ideal emergency”, despite rising use drones, privacy concerns underestimated so far. At same time, existing approach European Court Human Rights (ECtHR) Justice Union (CJEU) regarding health crisis rights emergencies seems rather conservative and, thus, setting between conflicting exceptional circumstances vague. Under these conditions, fear pandemic starting point for transitioning world normalizing exception is evident. Such terms implies with narrowed scope privacy; questions exploring challenges about future regulation, especially Union, are crucial.
