Abstract We describe the healthcare system for people with intellectual disability (ID) in Spain. First, we provide general population statistics before focusing on most recent prevalence data related to general, and ID particular. also discuss how health care is organized. Most of Spanish covered by public system, which structured into primary (first‐level services; easily accessible capable tackling common ailments) specialized (second‐level comprising complex costly diagnostic therapeutic resources). then explain Spain's legislation that promotes rights disabilities, highlighting importance United Nations Convention Rights Persons Disabilities (CRPD), enshrined General Law People their Social Inclusion (Royal Legislative Decree 1/2013). Second, organization support services, whose regulation highly given autonomous regions set own rules about coverage, financing. Third, present some studies allow a better understanding Spain, including summary ongoing #Rights4MeToo project. report specific right habilitation/rehabilitation. professionals providing them supports agreed problematic aspects were lack of: coordination across user‐friendly information maintain or improve health, psychological treatments, preventive medical check‐ups, knowledge among professionals. Abstract Background People with intellectual disabilities are more likely to be prescribed psychotropic medication than the general population and frequently multiple medications. Understanding people carer perspectives is essential improving quality of prescribing usage. Method A rapid review explored disabilities' understanding medications, as well family members paid carers, how this can improved. Results Twenty‐one journal articles were included. Lack was universal, participants often unaware adverse effects, alternatives, rights around medication. There also a lack involvement in decision making for all participants. Some interventions aimed at or carers helped improve knowledge. Conclusion Evaluating best disabilities, should focus future research.

Adults with intellectual disabilities have an increased vulnerability to mental health problems and challenging behaviour. In addition psychotherapeutic or psychoeducational methods, off-label pharmacotherapy, is a commonly used treatment modality.The aim of this study was establish evidence-based guideline recommendations for the responsible prescription psychotropic drugs, in relation Quality Life (QoL).A list guidelines selected, principles were established based on international literature, review expert evaluation. The Delphi method achieve consensus about among 58-member multidisciplinary panel. Thirty-three statements rated 5-point Likert-scale, ranging from totally disagree agree, consecutive rounds. When at least 70% participants agreed (score equal higher than 4), statement accepted . Statements without adjusted between rounds feedback panel.Consensus reached 4 general:the importance non-pharmaceutical treatments, comprehensive diagnostics treatment. Consensus 29 statements. No concerning: freedom-restricting measures, plan, evaluation informed consent.The led - aligned QoL perspective drugs adults Extensive discussion needed regarding issues which there no furthering ongoing development guideline.
