Abstract
Background
The
second
European
Consensus
Workshop
on
Education
in
Periodontology
was
commissioned,
as
a
result
of
the
changes
discipline
and
advances
educational
methods/technology,
to
update
2009
report
first
Federation
(EFP)
same
topic
that
jointly
authored
by
Association
for
Dental
Europe.
Aim
To
identify
propose
necessary
periodontal
education
at
three
levels,
namely
undergraduate,
specialist
continuing
professional
development
(CPD),
with
respect
learning
outcomes,
competencies
methods
learning/training
evaluation.
Methods
Four
working
groups
(WGs)
considered
periodontology
CPD
methods.
commissioned
position
papers,
one
per
WG,
summarized
relevant
information.

an
in‐person
consensus
meeting
discuss
individual
reviews,

conclusions.
Results
outcomes

Abstract
Aim
To
update
the
competences
and
learning
outcomes
their
evaluation,
educational
methods

quality
assurance
for
training
of
contemporary
specialists
in
periodontology,
including
impact

Methods
Evidence
was
gathered
through
scientific
databases
by
searching

education.

addition,
two
surveys
were
designed
sent
to
program
directors
graduates.
Results
Program
reported
that
curricula
periodically
adapted
incorporate
advances
diagnosis,
classification,
treatment
guidelines
clinical
techniques,
EFP
CPGs.
Graduates
evaluated
overall
positively,
although
satisfaction
limited
mucogingival
surgical
procedures
related
dental
implants.
Traditional
methods,
such
as
didactic
lectures,
are
still
commonly
employed,
but
they
now
often
associated
with
more
interactive
case‐based
seminars
problem‐based
simulation‐based
learning.
The
evaluation
competences/learning
should
employ
multiple
assessment.
Conclusion
An
specialist
periodontology
is
proposed,

ABSTRACT
Background
This
study
aims
to
investigate
the
impact
of
virtual
reality
(VR)
simulation
training
and
jawbone
models
on
dental
students'
proficiency
in
periodontal
skills.
Methods
The
90
undergraduates
were
randomly
divided
into
VR
teaching
group
(VR
group),
traditional
jaw
model

both
teaching.

Abstract
Introduction

COVID-19
pandemic
accelerated
the
adoption
of
blended
teaching
models
in
medical
education,
highlighting
their
potential
to
address
challenges
