Prematurity is becoming a real public health issue as more and children are being born prematurely, alongside higher prevalence of neurodevelopmental disorders. Early intervention programs in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) correspond to these uni- or multi-sensorial solicitations aiming prevent detect complications order support the development preterm infants. This article aims distinguish sensory according gradient type solicitations, multi-modal, function person who performs interventions. Uni-sensorial interventions essentially based on proprioceptive, gustatory, odorant solicitations. They allow, particular, reduction apneas that vegetative states infant. On other hand, benefits multi-sensory seem have longer-term impact. Most them allow transition from passive active feeding, an increase weight, improvement sleep-wake cycles. These often practiced by caregivers, but parents appears optimal since they main co-regulators their child's needs. Thus, it necessary co-construct train this neonatal care.

Although preterm infants are at risk for social deficits, interventions to improve mother-infant interaction in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) not part of standard (SC). Study participants were a subset from randomized controlled trial new intervention premature infants, Family Nurture Intervention (FNI), designed help mothers and establish an emotional connection. At infants' 4 months corrected age, face-to-face was filmed coded on 1-s time base mother touch, infant vocal affect, gaze, gaze. Time-series models assessed self- interactive contingency. Comparing FNI SC dyads, showed more touch calmer patterns, angry-protest but less cry. In maternal self-contingency, likely sustain positive repair moments negative by transitioning touch. contingency, when looked mothers, respond with affect transition affect. gaze following looking mother, male look their sons. mothers' away, Documentation effects 4-month communication is useful clinically has important implications improved developmental trajectory these infants. Intervention studies designed to improve neurodevelopmental outcomes of premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) were evaluated this systematic review analyze research methods, illuminate effectiveness interventions, and make recommendations for future research. Google Scholar, Cumulative Index Nursing Applied Health Literature, PubMed, Cochrane databases investigated identify experimental quasi-experimental interventional peer-reviewed journals. Each study was assessed areas sample, design, strategies, threats validity, outcomes. Nineteen articles reviewed with a variety clustered individual strategies identified NICU. Developmental NICU appears have some positive effects on neurodevelopment preterm infants. However, there number limitations that threaten validity included studies. Going forward, components developmental should be operationalized more consistently, greater effort put into ensuring treatment fidelity, electroencephalogram data collected conjunction behavioral outcome measures.
