The included studies were assessed quality risk bias.Forty-five (n = 13,291 participants) eligible this review. Most (35 trials) web-based self-help platforms deliver cognitive behavioural therapy (14 trials), mindfulness (four acceptance commitment (five positive psychology (two trials). Mobile/computer applications used coping strategies training Web-based synchronous chat (one trial) was assist communication between counsellors participants. Three artificial intelligence-based conversational agents problem-solving-strategy trial). Eighty-two percent 37) identified participants as student population (i.e. university students, high school students). Sixty-four 29) found be effective in managing depression, anxiety, stress, insomnia improving life when compared control conditions.Online diverse conditions among youth. Online most frequently modality chatbots are merging potential solutions. Future research is warranted investigate solutions improve retention rate satisfaction population.

Background Long wait times impede timely access to mental health treatment for anxiety and depression adolescents. However, there is limited quantitative research on current the of adolescents in Australia impact adolescent help-seekers. Method From April June 2022, 375 aged 13–17 years who living currently waiting, or had previously waited past 12 months, completed a cross-sectional online survey. Results Most initiated care with psychologists psychiatrists, mean 100.1 days (SD: 77.25) 127.5 78.80), respectively. The time across all was 99.6 80.44). participants (85.2%) felt their ‘too long’. Longer associated increased distress, many that worsened did not receive any from healthcare engaged maladaptive risky while waiting. attendance remained high. The rapid expansion of access to, and engagement with, the Internet digital technology over past 15 or so years has transformed social, educational therapeutic space occupied by children young people in contemporary society remarkable ways. First, it created previously unimaginable opportunities for learning development personal exploration growth. Second, seems that very same qualities characteristics make these positive contributions possible, such as its immediacy, portability, intimacy, unconstrained reach lack supervision regulation content, opened up to a range serious intellectual mental health risks. Finally, above 'effects', is increasingly successfully being harnessed identification treatment problems. Accordingly, not much double‐, triple‐edged sword, with regard children’s health.

Objective This review aims determine proportion well-being that adopted sustained in real-world settings. A secondary aim establish if key determinants such as coproduction, acceptability, feasibility, appropriateness, engagement contribute toward successful longevity. Methods Following PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses) guidelines, an electronic search 5 databases 2021 yielded 18,660 results. After full-text screening, 34 articles met full eligibility criteria, providing data 29 smartphone studied with individuals aged 15 25 years. Results Of studies, only 10 (29%) studies were identified evaluating effectiveness 8 existing, commercially available apps, remaining 24 (71%) reported development evaluation 21 newly developed which 43% (9/21) available, or otherwise (eg, services), at time enquiry. Most addressed components including adoption, engagement. Factors high cost, funding constraints, lengthy research processes impeded implementation. Conclusions Without addressing common drivers, there considerable redundancy translation mobile findings into practice. Studies should embed strategies from outset planned research, build collaborations partners already working field (academic commercial) capitalize existing interventions platforms, modify evaluate them local contexts target problems populations. (2) known from existing about or delivering services via apps? (3) are gaps knowledge base fields technology health? (4) Do reviewed address issues cultural sensitivity have they tested with groups (ie, groups)? Methods An electronic database search was conducted using relevant terms. Seven independent reviewers screened identified studies, title abstract determine if studies met inclusion criteria: targeted samples symptomology disorders, studied youth participants aged 6-17 years, examined app–based platform intervention. Relevant were subjected full-text extract chart data based priori questions. Results The initial yielded 304 papers published 2010 2021. After screening selection, final included 10 8 17 years. Identified broad range challenges depression, self-harm, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder). only small number suggesting this area limited. some provided general outcomes youths, several notable limitations present across literature, reducing generalizability findings. Additionally, considerations around racial, ethnic, socioeconomic diversity scarce studies. Conclusions Although cited targeting concerns overall body remains quite Moreover, expressly developed be culturally responsive almost nonexistent. Further efforts needed recruit who typically invite stakeholder participation collaborative input early stages app development process.
