The
ability
to
monitor
performance
during
a
goal‐directed
behavior
differs
among
children
and
adults
in
ways
that
can
be
measured
with
several
tasks
techniques.
As
well,
recent
work
has
shown
individual
differences
error
monitoring
moderate
temperamental
risk
for
anxiety

moderation

Abstract
Recent
theories
suggest
that
for
youth
highly
sensitive
to
incentives,
perceiving
more
social
threat
may
contribute

Abstract
The
integrative
nature
of
developmental
psychopathology
is
its
defining
and
most
remarkable
feature.
Since
inception,
often
identified
with
the
special
issue
Child
Development
(Cichetti,
1984),
this
new
discipline
has
shattered
barriers
divisions
that
until
then
had
artificially
compartmentalized
study
human
development,
perhaps
even
psychology
in
general,
it
proposed
ways
thinking
about
development.
One,
programmatically
integrated
research
on
typical
or
adaptive
atypical
maladaptive
processes
demonstrated
how
those
inform
each
other.
Two,
promoted
bridges
between
other
disciplines.
Three,
less
explicitly
but
equally
importantly,
abolished
conceptual
empirical
existed
among
various
theories
perspectives
within
by
creating
a
welcoming
niche
for
inspired
historically
seen
as
contradictory
incompatible.

Behavioral

childhood
