Hyperglycemia is a common and challenging condition in hospitalized patients both with without history of diabetes. Managing hyperglycemia effectively critical reducing complications, mortality, the length hospital stays. Insulin degludec (IDeg), an ultralong-acting basal insulin, has well-established efficacy safety profile terms managing outpatients; it demonstrated benefits clinical practice across various patient populations. This review aims to assess evidence on its suitability, as well safety, for different inpatient The specifically focuses outcomes such glycemic control, variability, (particularly hypoglycemia risk), dosing flexibility, ease titration, use special A comprehensive literature search was conducted using PubMed identify studies published between 2014 2024. Eligible included randomized controlled trials, real-world evidence, case series that examined IDeg management patients. reviewed consistently provides stable predictable control low variability. ultralong duration action, ability be titrated daily, flexibility make suitable noncritical care settings difficult-to-maintain rigid insulin schedules. Furthermore, risk hypoglycemia, particularly nocturnal IDeg. These attributes are beneficial diverse Practical advantages, administration specialized delivery device, further support settings. This position paper aims to address the challenges of managing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in frail older adults, a diverse and growing demographic with significant variability health status. The primary research questions are: How can frailty assessment be effectively integrated into care? What strategies optimize glycaemic control outcomes for adults? innovative tools technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), improve management this population? uses 5 I's framework (Identification, Innovation, Individualization, Integration, Intelligence) integrate care, proposing such as tools, novel therapies, digital AI systems. As people age, the prevalence of frailty, multimorbidity, and polypharmacy increases, presenting significant challenges in geriatric medicine. These three elements are interrelated a bidirectional manner, forming what can be termed “geriatric triangle.” The complexity their interconnections means that addressing each issue isolation is insufficient for achieving an effective resolution. Thus, comprehensive understanding this triangle essential appropriate management. This review aims to illuminate relationships within offer insights into potential strategies managing these interconnected challenges. Geriatr Gerontol Int 2025; ••: ••–•• .

ABSTRACT Aim This study aims to evaluate the various factors that contribute burden of diabetes in elderly individuals with type 2 diabetes. Methods The descriptive and cross‐sectional was conducted internal medicine clinic a training hospital Türkiye between January 2018 May 2019. sample consisted 102 aged 65 years older Data were collected through face‐to‐face interviews using Sociodemographic Characteristics Form Burden Diabetes Elderly Scale. Results mean total score for Scale participants' 50.98 ± 15.59. When scores (min = 18, max 88 points) could be obtained from scale taken into account, it evident below moderate level. Age group, marital status duration diagnosis did not affect ( p > 0.05). higher patients education undergraduate level, those who used combined oral antidiabetic insulin treatment, comorbidities < While there negative relationship comorbidity burden, positive treatment Conclusions It found mean, treatments presence increased burden. Practice Implications Improving drug management effectively controlling may play an important role reducing
