Rosacea is a common chronic inflammatory skin disorder that mainly affects the central face. It primarily characterized by recurrent episodes of flushing, persistent erythema, papules, telangiectasias, phymatous changes, and ocular symptoms. Its pathogenesis complex still not completely understood. encompasses innate adaptive immune system dysregulation, neurovascular dysfunction, genetic environmental factors. To date, four subtypes rosacea have been identified, based on predominant clinical features: erythemato-teleangiectatic, papulopustular, pyhomatous, rosacea. New insights into this condition led to several pharmacological treatments, including topical medications, spanning from conventional azelaic acid, metronidazole, benzoyl peroxide, clindamycin, erythromycin new ones only brimonidine, oxymetazoline, ivermectine, minocycline but also systemic drugs such as oral antibiotics, isotretinoin, non-selective β-blockers or α2-adrenergic agonists, laser- light-based therapies, together with therapeutic approaches. The aim study was review current literature pathophysiology provide an overview approaches specifically address each subtype.

Rosacea is a chronic, inflammatory facial dermatosis commonly found in fair skin tone population. Recent studies have shown the increasing prevalence dark population as well. Ocular involvement very common and can occur without cutaneous features. Common ocular features are chronic blepharoconjunctivitis with eyelid margin inflammation meibomian gland dysfunction. Corneal complications include corneal vascularization, ulceration, scarring, rarely, perforation. Diagnosis largely based on clinical signs, although it often delayed absence of changes, particularly children. The management ranges from local therapy to systemic treatment, depending severity disease. There positive association between demodicosis rosacea; however, causality always argued. In this review, we describe epidemiology, features, treatment rosacea rosacea.

Papulopustular rosacea (PPR) is a common inflammatory dermatosis often associated with Demodex mite proliferation, though its pathogenesis remains incompletely understood. While bilateral presentations predominate, unilateral cases are rare and may offer unique insights into disease mechanisms. We report case of 68-year-old female chronic erythematous scaly rash confined to the right malar region. Standardized skin surface biopsy revealed high density (>5 mites/cm²), confirming demodicosis. Treatment topical ivermectin cream resulted in significant improvement within four weeks. This underscores importance considering demodicosis differential diagnosis atypical facial dermatoses revisits classification, pathogenesis, diagnostic algorithm, treatment strategies for conditions. The findings support inclusion proliferation frameworks potential impact on tailored therapeutic approaches.

Amaç: Akne vulgaris farklı yaş gruplarından pek çok hastanın yaşam kalitesini etkileyen yaygın görülen bir hastalıktır. Demodeks akarları pilosebase foliküllerde mekanik tıkanmaya yol açabilmesi ve inflamatuar yanıtı tetikleyebilmesiyle akne patogenezinde rol oynayabileceği öne sürülmüş olsa da literatürde veriler kısıtlıdır. Çalışmamızda hastalarında demodikozis sıklığını hastalık şiddetiyle ilişkisini araştırmayı amaçladık. Gereç Yöntemler: Bu prospektif çalışmaya Pamukkale Üniversitesi dermatoloji polikliniğinde değerlendirilen 18-40 arası hafif, orta, şiddetli olmak üzere hastaları yaşı eşleştirilmiş sağlıklı gönüllüler dahil edildi. vulgarisin şiddetini değerlendirmek için Araştırmacının Genel Değerlendirmesi (IGA) skorlama sistemi kullanıldı. parazitlerini saptamak amacıyla yüzeysel deri biyopsisi tekniği uygulandı. Sayı 5/cm2’den fazla ise demodeks pozitif kabul Bulgular: Çalışmaya 30 kontrol şiddette toplam 90 hastası Kontrol grubunun %20’sinde (n=6), hastalarının %43,3’ünde (n=39) pozitifliği saptandı bu fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlıydı (p=0.03). şiddetine göre grubuyla kıyaslandığında; hafif 12’sinde (%40), orta şiddetteki 10’nunda (%33,3), 17’sinde (%56,7) saptandı. Şiddetli grubundan anlamlı oranda yüksekti (p=0,003). Adolesan %44,3 (n=43) iken post- adolesan grupta %12,5 (n=2) idi, (p=0,002). Sonuç: sıklığının yüksek olması patogenezdeki olası rolünün yanı sıra hastalarda eşlikçi veya taklitçi olabilmesi yönüyle dikkat çekicidir. Özellikle tedavisinden yanıt alınamadıysa araştırılması vakaların yönetimine katkı sağlayacaktır.

Demodex folliculorum and brevis are external parasites that reside in human hair follicles sebaceous glands, most commonly on the cheeks, chin, nose, eyelids, inhabiting eyelash follicles. The prevalence of spp. varies with age. highest concentration mites is observed older people, being almost 100%, lowest found children. Although presence does not directly lead to development pathological symptoms, their high density associated diseases such as rosacea or blepharitis. This manuscript delves into biological characteristics consideration current diagnostic techniques for detecting mites. It also aims provide an in-depth analysis role play various dermatological conditions, a review therapeutic approaches managing Demodex-related diseases.

ABSTRACT Background Demodex mites have been implicated in the pathogenesis of many dermatologic diseases, especially rosacea. Although case reports published about treatment skin diseases caused by folliculorum mite, no relevant algorithm has developed so far. In this context, we investigated lethal effects different doses benzyl benzoate on mite. Objective To compare 3 with those a control group consisting immersion oil. Materials and Methods Waste samples collected from rosacea patients were included study. Four groups 20 formed. Each was exposed to 5%, 10%, 25% concentrations benzoate, respectively. Immersion oil used as negative group. The movements monitored digital microscope. time death recorded. Results mean 26 ± 2,9, 120 7.6, 168 15 min after application at 25%, applied 192 6.4 min. Among study groups, only had statistically significantly shorter compared ( p = 0.03). Conclusion While low ineffective demodicosis, high concentrations, e.g., found be effective its treatment.

Dupilumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin-4 antibody, is approved for use in many type 2 inflammatory diseases, including atopic dermatitis. It generally well tolerated with no need of routine laboratory monitoring. However, several adverse events have been reported during real-world practice and pivotal trials. We conducted systematic literature research the PubMed, Medline, Embase databases to identify articles recording clinical manifestation potential pathogenesis these interests (AEIs) dermatologists. In total, 547 cases from 134 studies developed 39 AEIs 1 day 2.5 years after dupilumab treatment. The most common are facial neck dermatitis (299 cases), psoriasis (70 arthralgia (56 alopecia (21 cutaneous T cell lymphoma (19 severe ocular diseases drug eruption (6 cases). Most recorded this review resolved or improved discontinuation addition another treatment, whereas 3 died AEI. included help (Th1)/T (Th2) imbalance, Th2/T 17 (Th17) immune reconstitution, hypersensitivity reaction, transient hypereosinophilia related, Th1 suppression.
