The taxonomic status of the Oxynoemacheilus from Karınca and Havran streams in north Aegean Basin was evaluated, it concluded that these populations contain a new species. species, kottelati sp. nov. , is distinguished by body with marbled pattern, deeper caudal peduncle, shorter wider interorbital distance, middle caudal-fin lope. differentiated closest O. marmaraensis possessing 51 nucleotide substitution sites, genetic distance 8.40%, presence an axillary lobe at base pelvic fin (vs. absent), narrower median incision upper lip absent). Three species delimitation tests (ASAP, ABGD, PTP) phylogenetic analyses reinforce validity as distinct
