In this study, we adapted validated a measure tolerance homonegativity transnegativity (TOHT), assessed its associations with evaluations people, straight support for rights, system‐justifying ideologies among heterosexual, straight, binary‐gendered/non‐trans (i.e., cisgender) women men who identified as liberal, moderate, or conservative ( N = 295). Participants completed measures TOHT, authoritarianism, religiosity, contact people. Analyses by gender political ideology indicated that all groups tolerated bias to some degree. Among conservatives, (vs. men) endorsed TOHT more exhibited less rights; opposite was true liberals. As expected, higher scores were associated cooler However, after controlling system justifying motives, only significant conservatives moderates potentially suggesting liberals may endorse different reasons.
