Collectively known as eucheumatoids, Eucheuma denticulatum, Kappaphycus alvarezii, K. malesianus, and striatus are the main farmed seaweed species in Philippines. The success of farming for over five decades country is due, part, to high diversity cultivars maintained by Filipino farmers.
