Ethnobotany provides key insights from ancient traditions, particularly focusing on spice seeds. Despite their growing commercial value in food and pharmaceuticals, there is still a need for thorough research into traditional uses scientifically validated properties. The objective of this chapter to compile integrate current ethnobotanical knowledge with recent scientific findings highlight the inherent medicinal pharmacological properties these plants. A comprehensive examination was conducted range applications, methods preparation, cultural significance plants have been described, latest confirmed therapeutic potential. In summary, numerous seeds are traditionally considered healing agents, modern has benefits. convergence advancements established foundation integration practices.

ABSTRACT In recent years, DNA metabarcoding has been used for a more efficient assessment of bulk samples. However, there remains paucity studies examining potential disparities in species identification methodologies. Here, we explore the outcomes diverse clustering and filtering techniques on data from non‐destructive approach, compared to species‐level morphological Brachycera (Diptera) Hymenoptera two samples collected with Malaise traps. The study evaluated four distinct approaches, namely Amplicon Sequence Variants (ASVs) or ASVs clustered Operational Taxonomic Units (OTUs) coupled subsequent using LULU algorithm at 84% 96% minimum match. total, 114 (35 families) 85 (27 were identified morphologically. Depending selected results strongly varied terms detected molecular units blasted brachyceran hymenopteran species. For Brachycera, into OTUs followed by match (OTU96) inferred number closest morphologically Using Syrphidae as an exemplary family, found overlap ranging 9% 81% between different OTU96 being also here one. Hymenoptera, while yielded highest units, it was still considerably low Our show that methodology needs be significantly improved applied Hymenoptera. Conversely, acknowledge promise employing incorporating ASV LULU, derive dependable lists. Such lists hold significant applications biomonitoring, conservation efforts, other related fields.

ABSTRACT Pollination is an important ecological process for plant reproduction. Understanding the differences in plant–pollinator interactions and pollinator importance across spatial scales vital to determine responses of these global changes. Continental oceanic island systems provide us with ideal model examine variation interactions. Here, we compared species composition, network structure, communities between a continental (Wanshan Island) (Yongxing China. The results reveal highly dissimilar composition islands that caused different structures. In particular, networks had higher connectance, nestedness, specialization than networks. For plants cooccurring on both islands, richness flower visitation rate were island. Plant niche overlap was island, while entire subnetwork. Hymenoptera most group community, Apidae community. imply may be less vulnerable disturbance, such as habitat alteration or destruction, implication insights into biodiversity conservation pollinators islands.
