This study analyzes the perezhivanie of one second-language learner (Chinese L1) who studied Japanese as a second language and engaged in her learning experience cultural setting through yearlong advisory sessions. Perezhivanie, Russian term, Vygotskian concept, is employed to observe L2 development capture bidirectional influences characteristics agency environment. The data analyzed come from two sources: (a) our written correspondence, including email exchanges, before was conducted (b) audio-recorded six face-to-face/ online sessions on bimonthly basis with particular focus perezhivanie. Abstract The connection between Vygotsky’s Cultural-Historical Psychology (CHP) and the Marxist logic of dialectics is currently gaining focus to promote development application psychological theory. However, their interconnection has not been recognized appreciated extent that it deserves, especially in English academia. Dafermos (2018) clarified necessity for Vygotskians rethink cultural-historical psychology from dialectical perspective avoid misconceptions. To call more deepen theoretical understanding, this study analyzes philosophical basis Marxism CHP by adopting framework demonstrated Ollman (2003, 2015) two connected aspects: 1) internal relations 2) steps involved abstraction Marxism. Exploring Development of EMI Teacher Identities and Emotions During a Collaborative Teaching Practice: A Sociocultural Perspective DOI

Abstract The burgeoning English‐medium instruction (EMI) programs have aroused worldwide scholarly interest in giving language support for EMI subject teachers and their identity‐informed professional development. This study explored how an teacher's identities emotions were intricately interlinked before after his co‐teaching practice with English as a foreign (EFL) teacher at university Midwestern China. Ethnographic tools including interviews, observations, small talks used over 10‐month collaborative program. findings show that the participant interdependent each other mediated by teaching practice.
