Strawberries
are
a
widely
consumed
fruit
that
contains
variety
of
antioxidant
metabolites.
However,
postharvest
strawberries
highly
perishable
and
susceptible
to
fungal
pathogens.
In
this
study,
chitosan-based
coating
containing
turmeric
(TU)
green
tea
(GT)
extracts
was
developed
evaluated
for
the
preservation
strawberries.
Both
TU
GT
contained
high
phenolic
contents
(>5.8
g
kg−1
dry
weight),
but
only
extract
showed
strong
antifungal
activity.
SEM
observations
revealed
concentrations
(3–5%
v/v)
caused
formation
agglomerates
within
films,
reduced
elongation
at
break
increased
tensile
strength.

treatment
with
chitosan
inhibited
proliferation

One
