In recent years, increasing attention of researchers has been paid to the role melatonin in regulation body weight. When analyzing literature data, problem mechanism action on and its use correction metabolic disorders is considered. Disruption circadian rhythms caused by artificial light at night leads decreased secretion. This helps increase appetite reduce energy costs. addition, plays a major modulating secretion adipokines influencing lipid metabolism. Decreased production causes insulin resistance disorganization, leading obesity. Assessing development obesity accompanying pathologies promising area scientific research field diagnosis, prevention treatment endocrine cardiovascular pathologies.

Obesity and its complications have become a prominent global public health problem that severely threatens human health. Melatonin, originally known as an effective antioxidant, is endogenous hormone found throughout the body serves various physiological functions. In recent decades, increasing attention has been paid to unique function in regulating energy metabolism, especially glucose lipid metabolism. Accumulating evidence established relationship between melatonin obesity; nevertheless, not all preclinical clinical indicates anti-obesity effect of melatonin, which makes it remain conclude fight against obesity. this review, we summarized current knowledge obesity-related symptoms, with emphasis on underlying mechanisms. The role profile, adipose tissue, oxidative stress, inflammation, well interactions circadian rhythm, gut microbiota, sleep disorder, α7nAChR, opioidergic system, exosomes, make promising agent open new avenues intervention

Doxorubicin (DOX), as a kind of chemotherapy agent with remarkable therapeutic effect, can be used to treat diverse malignant tumors clinically. Dose-dependent cardiotoxicity is the most serious adverse reaction after DOX treatment, which eventually leads cardiomyopathy and greatly limits clinical application DOX. DOX-induced not result single mechanistic action, multiple mechanisms have been discovered demonstrated experimentally, such oxidative stress, inflammation, mitochondrial damage, calcium homeostasis disorder, ferroptosis, autophagy apoptosis. Dexrazoxane (DEX) only protective approved by FDA for treatment cardiomyopathy, but its still has some limitations. Therefore, we need find other effective drugs soon possible. In this paper, that effectively improve in recent years are mainly described from aspects natural drugs, endogenous substances, new dosage forms, herbal medicines, chemical modification marketed drugs. The aim present study evaluate effects these on anticancer curative effects, so provide reference value future.

Melatonin appears to be a promising supplement for obesity treatment. The antiobesity effects of melatonin on obese rodents are influenced by various factors, including the species, sex, dosage melatonin, treatment duration, administration via, daily time, and initial body weight (IBW). Therefore, we conducted meta-analysis machine learning study evaluate effect mice or rats from 31 publications. results showed that significantly reduced weight, serum glucose (GLU), triglycerides (TGs), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), cholesterol (TC) levels in but increased high-density (HDL) levels. slight positive clock-related genes, although number studies was limited. Meta-regression analysis indicated primary factor influencing with higher dosages leading stronger reduction effect. Together, male C57BL/6 Sprague-Dawley an IBW 100-200 g better when supplemented dose 10-30 mg/kg administered at night via injection 5-8 weeks.

Melatonin (N-acetyl-5 methoxytryptamine) is an indolic neurohormone that modulates a variety of physiological functions due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunoregulatory properties. Therefore, the purpose this study was critically review effects melatonin supplementation in sports performance circulating biomarkers related health status highly trained athletes. Data were obtained by performing searches following three bibliography databases: Web Science, PubMed, Scopus. The terms used “Highly Trained Athletes”, “Melatonin”, “Sports Performance”, “Health Biomarkers” using “Humans” as filter. search update carried out February 2024 from original articles published with controlled trial design. PRISMA rules, modified McMaster critical form for quantitative studies, PEDro scale, Cochrane risk bias applied. According inclusion exclusion criteria, 21 selected 294 references. dose supplemented trials ranged between 5 mg 100 administered before or after exercise. outcomes showed improvements antioxidant inflammatory response reversed liver damage muscle damage. Moderate on modulating glycemia, total cholesterol, triglycerides, creatinine reported. Promising data found regarding potential benefits hematological biomarkers, hormonal responses, performance. true efficiency directly improve remains be assessed. Nevertheless, indirect effect could evaluated through biomarkers.

Breastfeeding is the most appropriate source of a newborn’s nutrition; among plethora its benefits, modulation circadian rhythmicity with melatonin as potential neuroendocrine transducer has gained increasing interest. Transplacental transfer assures provision for fetus, who devoid secretion. Even after birth, neonatal pineal gland not able to produce rhythmically several months (with an even more prolonged deficiency following preterm birth). In this context, human breast milk constitutes main natural melatonin: diurnal dynamic changes, acrophase early midnight, and changes in concentrations according gestational age during different stages lactation have been reported. Understudied thus far are factors impacting on (changes in) content their clinical significance chronobiological adherence neonate: maternal well environmental aspects be investigated detail guide nursing mothers optimal feeding schedules which probably means synchronized instead mistimed practice. The aim of this review is to explore the relationship between melatonin, free radicals, and non-excitatory amino acids, their role in stroke aging. Melatonin has garnered significant attention recent years due its diverse physiological functions potential therapeutic benefits by reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, apoptosis. been found mitigate ischemic brain damage caused stroke. By scavenging radicals damage, melatonin may help slow down aging process protect against age-related cognitive decline. Additionally, acids have shown possess neuroprotective properties, including antioxidant anti-inflammatory aging-related conditions. They can attenuate modulate calcium homeostasis, inhibit apoptosis, thereby safeguarding neurons induced processes. intracellular accumulation certain could promote harmful effects during hypoxia-ischemia episodes thus, blockade acid transporters involved be an alternative strategy reduce damage. On other hand, specifically mitochondrial reactive oxygen nitrogen species, accelerates cellular senescence contributes Recent research suggests a complex interplay actions converge on multiple pathways, regulation modulation reduction inflammation. These mechanisms collectively contribute preservation neuronal integrity functions, making them promising targets for interventions disorders.

Background/Objectives: Obesity is linked to a higher risk of cognitive impairment. The objective this single blind randomized trial was evaluate the impact dark sweet cherry (DSC) intake on function in obese adults. Methods: Participants (body mass index (BMI): 30-40 kg/m2, >18 years, without chronic diseases and/or antibiotic use) consumed 200 mL DSC drink with 3 g powder (n = 19) or an isocaloric placebo 21) twice daily for 30 days. Cognitive assessed at Day 1 (D1) and (D30) using standardized tests NeuroTracker (NT) 3D training program. Blood biomarkers related health (neurotensin, substance p, oxytocin) circadian rhythm (melatonin cortisol) were D1 D30 Luminex multiplex bead-based immunoassay. Results: supplementation significantly improved working memory concentration, as indicated by scores digit span forward (DSF, p 0.006) backward (DSB, 0.01) tests. However, processing speed, sustained attention, visual spatial skills, through trail making (TMT) symbol substitution (DSST) tests, well performance (VCP) evaluated NT program, showed no significant differences between groups. Neurotensin, associated deficits, increased both groups but only group (p 0.007). Similarly, melatonin groups, reaching significance 0.02), it correlated positively IFNγ, suggesting compensatory response inflammation. Conclusions: These findings suggest may enhance specific functions Further clinical trials are needed confirm these results.
