Solid organ transplantation requires complex and ongoing medical management that impacts the family system. However, experiences of siblings transplant recipients are not well described. Therefore, purpose this study was to elucidate perspectives pediatric kidney liver recipients. Siblings (ages 12-17 years) completed a semi-structured interview (Via Zoom) demographic information. The data were analyzed using inductive content analysis. Twelve adolescents (9 males, 2 females, 1 non-binary; M = 15.25 Years, SD 2.13) virtual interview. Four major themes emerged describing experience: (1) Transplant changes system: Impact on relationships, dynamics, cohesiveness, (2) affects social-emotional development adjustment, (3) new meaning assigned increased commitment health sibling, (4) growth from experience as way help others. These findings affirm event is distressing their functioning in moment for years afterward. Opportunities exist raise healthcare providers' awareness providing care through lens, which can positively impact patient family. an initial step toward developing interventions incorporate interactions create more family-inclusive model setting.
