Background Immune cells play a major role in the development and progression of inflammatory malignant diseases oral mucosa. There is growing evidence that immune contribute to cancer metastases. Inflammatory carcinogenesis believed be relevant for Lichen Planus as well Leukoplakia. In addition, there periodontitis might also linked development. Yet no analysis available comparing cell composition these different neoplastic diseases. A better understanding similarities differences could eventually pave way use immunotherapy non-malignant Methods current pilot study, tissue microarray (TMA) was created total 29 patients with (PD, n=4), Leukoplakia (OL, (OLP, squamous without lymphatic metastases (OSCC N0, n=5), or N+, OSCC biopsies prior resection specimens after anti-PD1 (IT) (each n=3) healthy control gingiva (n=5). each patient two samples were analyzed. The TMA stained 4X multiplex immunofluorescent staining IL-23R, CD68, CD11c, CD163. Samples digitalized an AI-based counting performed. Statistical performed using Mann-Whitney U test. Results IL-23R expression, macrophage infiltration M2 polarization OL OLP significantly higher compared controls. showed than OL. PD trend increased controls significance. N+ N0 cases. response IT, CD11c CD163 increased. Most positive co-expressed markers. Conclusion combination 4-plex immunofluorescence suitable characterization Macrophage precursor lesions seems associated metastatic spread. IL-23 pathway inhibition potential target

Abstract Background Recent evidence suggests that chronic inflammation may play a role in the development and clinical course of cancer. In this context, periodontitis (PE) has been associated with prostate cancer (PC), but results are still inconsistent. Therefore, aim study was to evaluate potential association between PE PC, their shared risk factors. Methods This case–control comprised 152 cases PC 220 controls. All participants underwent complete periodontal examination, sociodemographic medical variables interest were collected. The occurrence severity covariates assessed by binary multinomial multivariate logistic regression, respectively. Results had higher prevalence ( p = 0.012) 0.007) PE. an educational level <9 years (adjusted odds ratio [OR] 1.93), smoking OR 2.62), alcohol consumption 3.45), diabetes 0.32), hypertension 2.03), 1.80). Regarding Gleason grades 1 2 1.96), 3–5 not. Conclusion PC. Males diagnosed would potentially benefit from being screened for alterations. Plain language summary Periodontitis is infectious disease affects supporting structures teeth. It characterized as inflammatory stimulus or worsening We evaluated relationship cancer, well factors, comprising 372 male individuals. recruited urology outpatient clinic examination. showed individuals presented worse status periodontitis. Abstract Background The causal relationship between breast cancer (BC) and the oral microbiome remains unclear. In this case–control study, using two‐sample Mendelian randomization (MR), we thoroughly explored BC in East Asian population. Methods Genetic summary data related to microbiota were collected from genome‐wide association studies involving participants of descent. MR estimates generated by conducting various analyses. Sequencing a study used verify validity these findings. Results analysis revealed that 30 tongue 37 salivary bacterial species significantly associated with BC. Interestingly, both microbiomes, observed effect six genera, namely, Aggregatibacter , Streptococcus Prevotella Haemophilus Lachnospiraceae Oribacterium Solobacterium on Our findings suggest differences specific bacteria patients healthy controls. Moreover, sequencing confirmed results, demonstrating compared control group, group had higher relative abundance Pasteurellaceae Streptococcaceae but lower Bacteroidaceae . Conclusions suggests exerts causative risk, supported study. future, should be undertaken comprehensively understand complex interaction mechanisms
