Abstract Introduction Oral cancer and periodontitis are complex, multifactorial diseases, influenced by common risk factors such as genetic predisposition, lifestyle choices, oral health practices. While certain studies indicate a positive correlation between cancer, the precise mechanisms causation remain unclear. Objective This study aims to determine if individuals with have heightened of developing compared those healthy periodontal conditions. Materials Methods One hundred twenty-six participants, 63 without were enrolled. A structured questionnaire was developed gather data on demographics, socioeconomic status, factors, dietary habits, condition, hygiene practices, complete status. Statistical analysis used chi-squared Mann–Whitney U tests logistic regression understand potential influences development. Results Notable associations identified occurrence specific behaviors, including gender, age, education level, tobacco alcohol usage. Average Silness Loe plaque index values, probing pocket depth, clinical attachment loss values significantly higher in cases than controls. Patients exhibited incidence (63.9%) (32.4%). substantial majority patients (72.9%) stage 4 periodontitis, contrasting controls (30.6%). Conclusion Periodontitis emerges significant individual factor influencing Rigorous monitoring is recommended for compromised health, particularly severe concurrent factors. Prioritizing preservation high-risk holds promise mitigating cancer–associated risks.

Abstract Increasing evidence suggests a significant association between periodontal disease and the occurrence of various cancers. The carcinogenic potential several pathogens has been substantiated in vitro vivo. This review provides comprehensive overview diverse mechanisms employed by different development cancer. These induce chronic inflammation, inhibit host's immune system, activate cell invasion proliferation, possess anti‐apoptotic activity, produce substances. Elucidating these might provide new insights for developing novel approaches tumor prevention, therapeutic purposes, survival improvement.

Periodontitis can disrupt oral and gut microbiota, leading to dysbiosis that affects overall systemic health. Besides the spread of periodontal pathogens by hematogenous route, they also be translocated into gastrointestinal tract, possibly intervening in neoplastic process tract. This manuscript reviews relationship between microbiota due periodontitis, discussing health implications potential links cancer. article highlights significance effect gut, emphasizing importance maintaining prevent diseases. Lastly, it will go through therapeutic innovations such as probiotics analysis tools for disease detection. These findings mark integration management clinical practice lower risk improve patient outcomes.

Periodontitis is an intractable chronic inflammatory disease characterized by excessive proinflammatory factors production and reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation. Nanodrugs have made significant contributions in the biomedical field but fall short as periodontitis therapeutics because of their singular effects, low retention rates, poor specificity, insufficient biocompatibility. Herein, we report a functionalized periodontal ligament stem cell (PDLSC) membrane-camouflaged MnO2 nanoplatform (MnO2@hPM) to target reprogram microenvironment periodontitis. PDLSC-affinity biological molecules hypoxia-educated proteins on membrane coating endow MnO2@hPM with capacities actively PDLSCs under environment, concurrently neutralize various factors, scavenge overburdened ROS. The synergistic effects inflammation inhibition ROS elimination mitigate mitochondrial dysfunction, improve metabolic disturbance, restore osteogenic potential inflammation-impaired PDLSCs. In vivo, effectively accumulates at sites, significantly ameliorates inflammation, alleviates bone loss artificial periodontitis, showing optimized therapeutic performance for tissue reconstruction. This multirisk-rescuing biomimetic nanozyme good biocompatibility exhibits inflammation-targeting ability benefits against highlighting its advanced therapy other diseases.

Recent studies reported the role of Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. g) in promoting oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) progression. However, molecular mechanism remains unclear. P. g-OMVs were isolated using ultracentrifugation method and characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA). CCK-8, migration, invasion, Quantitative real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR) immunocytochemistry assays performed to evaluate effect on tumor cells' proliferation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), ferroptosis vitro. Western blot was study phosphorylation transcription factor nuclear kappa B (NF-κB). In vivo, growth OSCC evaluated a xenograft model, followed hematoxylin eosin immunohistochemistry staining. TEM NTA demonstrated that have vesicular structure with particle size around 118 nm. Compared control group, significantly enhance invasion cells. addition, promote EMT cells, which can be attenuated activator erastin. Moreover, inhibit feroptosis activating NF-κB signaling. OSCC. A high level of liver fat content (LFC) is a key indicator steatotic disease (SLD), reflecting its pathological essence. Periodontal (PD) recognized as chronic inflammatory condition and cause widespread adverse health impact. This study aims to investigate the relationship between PD LFC development. In UK Biobank, were gathered through digital questionnaire, including gum pain, bleed, or teeth loose. was measured by Fatty Liver Index (>60 indicates SLD) in cross-sectional analysis magnetic resonance imaging (quantified Proton Density Fat Fraction, PDFF) longitudinal analysis. Multivariable logistic linear regression models conducted association LFC. analysis, 164,150 (37.4%) individuals diagnosed with SLD, showed significant SLD (odds ratio: 1.104, 95% CI: 1.075-1.132). prospective total 39,656 participants median follow-up 10.3 years included. an arithmetic mean difference 0.091 PDFF (95% 0.047-0.139), males exhibiting stronger than females (P for interaction <0.05). Significant mediating effects observed body mass index (19.58%), C-reactive protein (11.61%), blood glucose (6.70%), healthy diet score (5.99%) all <0.001). There pronounced correlation LFC, predominantly driving this link. may be partially mediated fat, inflammation, dietary habit, insulin resistance.
