Abstract For decades, periodontitis has been considered to be a local inflammatory disease of the periodontal tissues in oral cavity. Initially, associations with multitude noncommunicable diseases were each studied separately, and relationships shown. Periodontitis, a chronic multifactorial inflammatory condition of the periodontium, is originated by dysbiotic oral microbiota and negatively correlated with several systemic diseases. The low-chronic burden gingival inflammation not only exacerbates periodontitis but also predisposes individuals to spectrum age-related conditions, including cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic dysfunction, especially related ageing. In this regard, over local periodontal treatment, lifestyle modifications adjunctive therapies may offer synergistic benefits in ameliorating both health ageing populations. Elucidating intricate connections between senescence important for understanding health's implications Effective management strategies targeting senescent pathways novel avenues promoting healthy preventing morbidities. This review will analyze current literature about interplay periodontitis, dysbiosis, processes senescence, shedding light on their collective impact modulation accelerated Lastly, therapeutic dysbiosis mitigate its associated morbidities be discussed.

Oral diseases such as dental caries, periodontitis, and oral cancer are prevalent present significant challenges to global public health. Although these typically treated through procedures like preparation resin filling, scaling root planning, or surgical excision, interventions often not entirely effective, postoperative drug therapy is usually required. Traditional treatments, however, limited by factors poor penetration, side effects, the development of resistance. As a result, there growing need for novel delivery systems that can enhance therapeutic efficacy, reduce improve treatment outcomes. In recent years, drug-loaded vesicles, liposomes, polymersomes, extracellular vesicles (EVs), have emerged promising platforms due their high encapsulation efficiency, controlled release properties, excellent biocompatibility. This review provides an in-depth examination characteristics, advantages, limitations in context disease treatment. It further explores reasons advantages discusses specific applications, prospects, strategies optimizing vesicle-based improved clinical

Background and Objective: Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease caused by dental plaque accumulation, leading to damage of periodontal tissues potential tooth loss. Understanding the mechanisms periodontitis, particularly role hypoxia in inflammation, critical for identifying novel therapeutic strategies. This study investigated effects prolyl hydroxylase (PHD) inhibitor DMOG on pro-inflammatory cytokine expression human ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs) examined involvement HIF-1α/YAP signaling path ay modulating inflammation. Materials Methods: hPDLSCs were cultured treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induce followed treatment. Cell proliferation was assessed using CCK-8 assay, while ELISA RT-qPCR evaluated levels HIF-1α, IL-1β, TNF-α, YAP. YAP knocked down siRNA transfection examine its cytokines. Abstract Background Systemic diseases often present initial signs through oral manifestations, making early recognition essential for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning. Patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) commonly experience gingival issues. This case report discusses the outcomes of a 12‐year‐old female patient who presented swelling pain was subsequently diagnosed ALL. Methods The underwent chemotherapy basic periodontal supragingival scaling. Comprehensive clinical assessments, photographs, imaging data were recorded at visit, follow‐ups 8 years 10 later. Results A routine blood test bone marrow aspiration confirmed B‐cell (B‐cell ALL). After 1 year rituximab, recovered discharged. An 8‐year follow‐up revealed significant attachment gain healthy status, complete recovery observed 10‐year follow‐up. Conclusions Adolescents presenting swollen bleeding gums should be evaluated potential leukemia. Dentists, especially periodontists, aware manifestations ALL coordinate medical professionals to establish comprehensive, long‐term plan. Periodontal health in adolescents can improve significantly remission appropriate therapy. Key points Oral as indicators: In (ALL), systemic symptoms may minimal or absent. BACKGROUND Oral health of nursing home residents is generally poor, largely due to age-related conditions that increase their vulnerability and make them more dependent on others for oral care. Poor can significantly impact general well-being, highlighting the important role caregivers in preventing, detecting, addressing residents’ problems time. The interRAI Suite instruments, widely used comprehensive assessments, offers opportunity non-dental assess as part well-being facilitates integration care planning. OBJECTIVE Based data, this study explored associations between outcomes Flanders (Belgium) Netherlands. Periodontal disease, a prevalent oral inflammatory condition, is implicated in exacerbating systemic diseases. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying this association remain unclear. In study, we performed RNA sequencing of gingival tissue samples collected from mouse model periodontal disease at multiple time points to investigate dynamic transcriptomic changes during progression. Our analysis revealed distinct temporal gene expression patterns associated with key and immune response pathways. These findings suggest stepwise progression process, potentially contributing inflammation through shared signaling networks. We further identified specific genes pathways that may mediate bidirectional relationship between conditions such as cardiovascular diabetes. By elucidating dynamics study provides insights into pathogenesis its implications. It identifies potential biomarkers therapeutic targets for local management.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major risk factor for the development of periodontal disease and aggravates severity conditions. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are known to degrade ligament attachment bone matrix proteins. Increased expression CD147 associated with increased synthesis several MMPs, being modulator MMP expression, including that MMP-14. The purpose this study was quantify compare expressions MMP-14 in gingival tissues patients without type 2 diabetes mellitus. Material Methods: In histological study, we included 33 subjects disease: 16 DM (test group) 17 systemically healthy (control group). Tissue fragments were processed using an immunohistochemistry technique determine immunoreactivity (IR) intensity CD147. Results: group periodontitis, 56.2% showed weak positive (+), while 43.8% had intensely (+++) Statistically significant differences between test control groups (p = 0.004, p 0.883, 0.002) found membranous IR moderate (++) CD 147, (+++). 0.001, 0.002, 0.003) Conclusions: significantly higher 147 demonstrates role these biomarkers pathology patients.
