One of the best replicated and most famous effects in experimental psychology, Stroop effect, describes interferences cognitive processing when a color word is printed conflicting ink color. Recently, controversial hypothesis was proposed that reading triggers visual imagery, which then interferes with perceived color, leading to effect.
