Domestication

long
and
endless
process
during
which
animals
become,
generations
after
generations,
more
adapted
to
both
captive
conditions
humans.
Compared
land
animals,
domestication
of
fish
species
has
started
recently.
This
implies
that
most
farmed
marine
have
only
changed
slightly
from
their
wild
counterparts,
production
based
partly
or
completely
on
inputs.
In
the
past
decades,
global
increased
tremendously,
particularly
since
1990s,
reach
than
2.2
million
tons
in
2013.
Among
100
listed
FAO’s
database
2013,
35
are
no
longer
produced,
six
higher
100,000
tons.
The
top
ten
accounted
for
nearly
90%
production.
future
growth

will
depend

fish
as
preferred
protein
source,
straining
capture
fisheries.
Overfishing
has
depleted
wild
stocks,
emphasizing
the
need
advanced
aquaculture
technologies.
Unlike
agriculture,

substantial
technological
advancements.
Artificial
Intelligence
(AI)
tools
like
Internet
of
Things
(IoT),
machine
learning,
cameras,
and
algorithms
offer
solutions
to
reduce
human
intervention,
enhance
productivity,
monitor
health,
feed
optimization,
water
resource
management.
However,
challenges
such
data
collection,
standardization,
model
accuracy,
interpretability,
integration
with
existing
systems
persist.
This
review
explores
adoption
AI
techniques
advance
industry
bridge
gap
between
food
supply
demand.

Abstract
Fish
sperm
motility
is
nowadays
considered
the
best
biomarker
for
quality
of
fish
spermatozoa,
and
motion
parameters
from
more
than
300
species
have
been
reported
in
1500
scientific
articles
covering
a
wide
range
topics,
molecular
biology
to
ecology.
The
most
studied
topics
(i)
storage
(involving
both
use
chilled‐storage
protocols
short‐term
periods
cryopreservation
techniques
long‐term
storage),
(ii)
physiology
(fathom
spermatozoa
activation
process
whole
propulsion
machinery
cells)
(iii)
broodstock
management
(covering
aspects
such
as
rearing
conditions,
dietary
requirements
or
hormonal
induction
treatments).
In
addition,
other
aquaculture
ecological
(iv)
knowledge
breeding
cycle
species,
(v)
phenomenon
competition
(vi)
ecotoxicological
studies
evaluation
aquatic
environments,
also
approached
performance.
Therefore,
assessment
can
serve
potential
tool
purposes,
key
fundamental
applied
research.
