Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the phytobiotic potential oils from Copaifera langsdorffii (copaiba), Carapa guianensis (andiroba), Attalea speciosa (babassu), Mauritia flexuosa (buriti), and Caryocar brasiliense (pequi), as well two types aqueous extracts Terminalia catappa (tropical almond), alternatives antibiotics containing enrofloxacin or oxytetracycline active ingredients in continental aquaculture. Five species-specific pathogens with high prevalence dissemination fish farming systems were selected for study. virulence strains assessed using Gram staining, catalase, hemolytic activity tests, followed by inhibition halo assays potential. All exhibited vitro subjected evaluations, where inhibitory zones tested products measured, along their bactericidal bacteriostatic effects. Among evaluated products, only A. did not exhibit an against analyzed pathogens. Conversely, C. brasiliense, M. flexuosa, guianensis, langsdorffii, hot extract T. demonstrated effects, yielding superior results (P > 0.05) compared positive control oxytetracycline. proved be competitive ingredients, showing antibacterial action Aeromonas hydrophila, caviae, jandaei, Streptococcus agalactiae.

Abstract Objective The purpose of this study was to develop ecofriendly and sustainable copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) using Padina pavonica extract. CuNPs were characterized scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for morphological analysis, energy dispersive X-ray (EDS) spectroscopy elemental composition, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) functional group identification, UV-visible optical properties. We evaluated the toxicity survival rates Guppy Poecilia reticulata larvae that subjected varied CuNP concentrations determine best concentration range future aquaculture uses. Methods different characterization stability synthesized investigated SEM, EDS, FTIR, spectroscopy. To evaluate safe exposure levels, exposed monitored over a 72-hour period. Results biosynthesized exhibited characteristic surface plasmon resonance peaks at 260 nm, confirming their formation, with FTIR revealing involvement groups like O-H O-SO3H in nanoparticle capping. SEM analysis showed irregular, aggregated CuNPs, sizes ranging from 50 200 nm. Energy confirmed including copper, oxygen, chlorine, carbon. Conclusions This article describes environmentally acceptable method manufacturing extract as natural reducing agent. established an appropriate by comparing concentrations. findings provide important insights into use aquaculture, which benefits both aquatic organism health environmental sustainability.

Bivalve microbiota play a vital role in host health, supporting nutrient processing, immunity, and disease resistance. However, the increasing hypoxia Chilean coastal waters, caused by climate change eutrophication, threatens to disrupt this microbial balance, potentially promoting pathogens impairing essential functions. Mytilus chilensis is vulnerable hypoxia-reoxygenation cycles, yet effects on its remain poorly understood. This study investigates impact of structure functional potential communities residing gills digestive glands M. chilensis. Employing full-length 16S rRNA gene sequencing, we explored hypoxia’s diversity capacity. Our results revealed significant alterations composition, with shift towards facultative anaerobes thriving low oxygen environments. Notably, there was decrease dominant bacterial taxa such as Rhodobacterales, while opportunistic Vibrio Aeromonas exhibited increased abundance. Functional analysis indicated decline critical functions associated metabolism immune support, jeopardizing health survival host. sheds light intricate interactions between host-associated environmental stressors, underlining importance managing face aquaculture practices.

Todas as selecionadas apresentaram in vitro prosseguiram a avaliação inibição, qual mensuradas zonas inibitórias produtos testados, analisar seus efeitos bactericida bacteriostáticos. Dos avaliados, apenas A. não apresentou inibitório frente aos analisados, já C. brasiliense, M. flexuosa, guianensis, quente T. efeito bactericida, resultados superiores (P > 0,05) comparação controle positivo oxitetraciclina. Os mostraram-se competitivos princípio ativo oxitetraciclina, demonstrando ação antibactericida contra Aeromonas hydrophila, cavie, jandaei Streptococcus agalactiae.
