The
SARS-CoV-2
infection

has
dramatically
changed
as
a
result
of
population
vaccination
and
the
surge
omicron.
However,

are
still
specific
populations

risk

ABSTRACT
Introduction
Pediatric
Infectious
Disease
(PID)
clinicians
involved
in
solid
organ
transplantation
often
assess
infection
risk
and
mitigation
strategies
for
donor
offers.
While
some
guidance
is
available,
real‐life
practice
patterns
have
not
been
previously
described.
Methods
We
surveyed
PID
about
acceptance
associated
posttransplantation
interventions
using
12
fictitious
pediatric
case
scenarios
through
3
PID‐specific
listservs.
Descriptive
statistics
were
employed.
Results
48
(71.6%)
of
67
ID
respondents
offer
assessment.
Agreement
was
strong
(>
80%)
to
accept
(syphilis,
severe
acute
respiratory
syndrome
coronavirus
2
[SARS‐CoV‐2],
MRSA,
E.
coli
,
TB
[liver],
rhino/enterovirus)
or
decline
(undifferentiated
encephalitis,
[lung])
organs
from
these
cases,
while
there
less
agreement
cases
with
coccidioidomycosis,
Chagas
disease,
multi‐drug‐resistant
Acinetobacter
baumannii
influenza.
Less
present
posttransplant
monitoring
antimicrobial
administration.

Abstract
The
Disease
Transmission
Advisory
Committee
(DTAC)
of
the
Organ
Procurement
and
Transplantation
Network
focuses
on
issues
related
to
transmission
disease
through
organ
transplantation.
Providing
a
review
potential
cases
transmission,
translating
aggregate
data
into
actionable
education
guidance
for
transplant
community,
providing
input
policy
development,
DTAC
aims
improve
safety
transplantation
reduction
in
donor‐derived
events.
Through
its
nearly
20‐year
history,
has
provided
education,
guidance,
policy,
addressed
numerous
emerging
infections,
continuously
focused
community's
understanding
risk
assessment
transmission.
By
updating
mission
both
decrease
safely
expand
donor
pool
with
additional
use
organs
previously
not
considered
due
concerns,
Committee's
role
will
remain
critical.
