SUMMARY Apomixis – clonal seed production in plants is a rare yet phylogenetically widespread trait that has recurrently evolved to fix hybrid genotypes over generations. absent from major crop species and been seen as holy grail of plant breeding due its potential propagate vigor perpetuity.
