Noise reduction methods have been proposed for various loud noises. However, in a quiet indoor environment, even small noises often cause discomfort. One of the that causes discomfort is noise with resonant frequencies. Since frequencies are high frequencies, it difficult to apply conventional active control them. To solve this problem, we focused on auditory masking, phenomenon which synthesized sounds increase audible threshold. We performed several studies reducing based masking. was comfortable sound design be achieved using previously methods, though they were able reduce feelings Here, focus pleasant sound: music. Comfortable made possible by introducing music theory into masker signals. In paper, therefore propose masking chord progression and melody generation match peak dental treatment

This paper introduces the Fundamental User Needs (FUN) Scales, tailored to measure need satisfaction and frustration in design-mediated interactions. The development initial validation process included a preparation phase four studies. Adopting deductive approach, we generated pool of 780 items distilled them into first version FUN Scales: 52-item Need Satisfaction Scale Frustration Scale. Content validity was assessed by nine experts, leading refined second version. Exploratory confirmatory factor analyses with 502 participants examined scales' factorial structure, reliability, validity, resulting finalized 39 per scale. Finally, proposed two scoring approaches facilitate scale application. Scales can serve as robust diagnostic tool for quantifying psychological impact design technology through lens fulfillment, offering structure inspiration human-centered research practice.
