Understanding the dynamic spatial distribution and characteristics of fishing activities is crucial for fisheries management sustainable development. In recent years, small pelagic fish cephalopods in Arabian Sea have become new targets light purse seine fishing; however, there a lack publicly available reports. This study uses automatic identification system (AIS) data from January to May October December 2021 2022 region between 58°–70° E 10°–22° N extract information through three methods. The results show that with resolution 0.25° × 0.25°, similarity index ground extracted catch was consistently above 0.60, reaching 0.76 March 0.79 November 2022, while exceeded 0.71. effort kernel density similar grounds, intensity exhibited highest spatiotemporal commercial data, making it more suitable as substitute fishery data. Therefore, effective international cooperation efficient joint mechanisms vessels are needed enhance regulatory oversight this region. Integrating AIS other technological methods monitoring vessels. findings presented paper provide both quantitative qualitative scientific support resource conservation development
