Perovskite solar cells with the formula FA1-xCsxPbI3, where FA is formamidinium, provide an attractive option for integrating high efficiency, durable stability and compatibility scaled-up fabrication. Despite incorporation of Cs cations, which could potentially enable a perfect perovskite lattice1,2, compositional inhomogeneity caused by A-site cation segregation likely to be detrimental photovoltaic performance cells3,4. Here we visualized out-of-plane along vertical direction across films identified underlying reasons its potential impact devices. We devised strategy using 1-(phenylsulfonyl)pyrrole homogenize distribution composition in films. The resultant p-i-n devices yielded certified steady-state photon-to-electron conversion efficiency 25.2% stability.

Even though the perovskite solar cell has been so popular for its skyrocketing power conversion efficiency, further development is still roadblocked by overall performance, in particular long-term stability, large-area fabrication and stable module efficiency. In essence, soft component ionic-electronic nature of metal halide perovskites usually chaperonage large number anion vacancy defects that act as recombination centers to decrease both photovoltaic efficiency operational stability. Herein, we report a one-stone-for-two-birds strategy which anion-fixation associated undercoordinated-Pb passivation are situ achieved during crystallization using single amidino-based ligand, namely 3-amidinopyridine, metal-halide overcome above challenges. The resultant devices attain high 25.3% (certified at 24.8%) with substantially improved Moreover, device without encapsulation retained 92% initial after 5000 h exposure ambient 95% >500 working maximum point under continuous light irradiation ambient. Incorporating mixed ion is a frequently used strategy to stabilize black-phase formamidinum lead iodide perovskite for high-efficiency solar cells. However, these devices commonly suffer from photoinduced phase segregation and humidity instability. Herein, we find that the underlying reason halide perovskites generally fail grow into homogenous high-crystalline film, due multiple pathways of crystal nucleation originating various intermediate phases in film-forming process. Therefore, design multifunctional fluorinated additive, which restrains complicated promotes orientated crystallization α-phase perovskite. Furthermore, additives in-situ polymerize during film formation form hydrogen-bonded network α-phase. Remarkably, polymerized endow strongly hydrophobic effect bare against liquid water 5 min. Abstract Perovskite solar cells have reached a power conversion efficiency over 25%, and the engineering of interface between perovskite hole transport layer (HTL) has been crucial to achieve high performance. Here we design bifunctional molecule CBz-PAI with carbazole-triphenylamine phenylammonium iodide units passivate defects at perovskite/HTL interface. Owing favourable energy level alignment perovskite, acts as shuttle HTL. This minimizes difference quasi-Fermi splitting or ‘internal’ V oc , external device thus reducing voltage losses. As result, incorporating reach stabilized 24.7% maintain 92.3% initial after 1,000 h under damp heat test (85 °C 85% relative humidity) 94.6% 1,100 maximum point-tracking conditions.
