To investigate the community structure and diversity of gut microflora their function in body mass regulation, as well effects various locations on microbiota Cricetulus longicaudatus regulation at elevations. We examined diversity, abundance, long-tailed dwarf hamsters from eight regions Shanxi province during summer using 16S rDNA sequencing technology analyzed relationships between these environmental variables morphological indicators. The results revealed Firmicutes Bacteroidetes dominant phyla phylum level, with Lactobacillus emerging predominant genus. observed differences different areas, this is affected by altitude. high-altitude areas individuals had lower β than low-altitude area. Moreover, skull indexes also changed result presented study indicated that size conforms to Bergmann's law. And Providencia significant correlation size. Finally, functional analysis showed changes metabolic depended elevation, collinear network how interacts each other. All suggest are depending altitude, altitude being main factor affecting both microbes way metabolism works. This shows has a big effect phenotypic traits hamsters. It species can adapt

The construction of gut microbial communities in wildlife is influenced by both environmental factors and host genetic background. However, the mechanisms through which these interact to shape remain poorly understood. In this study, we systematically sampled fecal specimens from male female wild blue sheep across different seasons Helan Mountain Nature Reserve analyzed them using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. objective was investigate seasonal changes interactions between sex season on sheep. Our results revealed that Firmicutes Bacteroidetes were dominant phyla all groups, ten most abundant genera stable sexes seasons. Alpha diversity (Chao1, two-way ANOVA, p = 0.001) Beta (PCoA, Anosim, R 0.5410, analyses further confirmed sex-specific significantly community structure. Notably, microbiomes exhibited distinct response patterns changes. LEfSe analysis (LDA > 3) identified 20 taxa with significant differences, some showed variation. These findings highlight critical role modulating adaptation stresses. This study provides new insights into ecological evolutionary offers a scientific basis for sex-based conservation strategies.

Rodents, including the striped field mouse (Apodemus agrarius), play vital roles in ecosystem functioning, with their gut microbiota contributing significantly to various ecological processes. Here, we investigated structure and function of 94 wild A. agrarius individuals from 7 geographic populations (45°57' N, 126°48' E; 45°87' 126°37' 45°50' 125°31' 45°59' 124°37' 46°01' 124°88' E), revealing two distinct enterotypes (Type1 Type2) for first time. Each enterotype showed unique microbial diversity, functions, assembly Firmicutes Bacteroidetes dominated, a significant presence Lactobacillus Muribaculaceae. Functional analysis highlighted metabolic differences, Type1 emphasizing nutrient processing Type2 showing higher energy production capacity. The neutral model null revealed mix stochastic (drift homogenizing dispersal) deterministic processes (homogenous selection) that shape microbiota, subtle differences between enterotypes. Correlation elevation BMI were associated phylogenetic turnover communities, suggesting variations these factors may influence composition diversity agrarius. Our study sheds light on dynamics populations, highlighting importance considering physiological understanding host-microbiota interactions.

Objective: Enterotypes (ETs) are the clustering of gut microbial community structures, which could serve as indicators growth performance and carcass traits. However, ETs have been sparsely investigated in waterfowl. The objective this study was to identify ileal explore correlation with traits Muscovy ducks. Methods: A total 200 ducks were randomly selected from a population 5,000 at 70-day old, weighed slaughtered. traits, including body weight, dressed weight evidenced percentage, percentage apparent yield, breast muscle leg muscle, determined. contents ileum collected for isolation DNA 16S rRNA gene sequencing. identified based on sequencing data performed by Spearman analysis. Results: Three (ET1, ET2, ET3) observed microbiota significant differences number features α-diversity among these (p<0.05). Streptococcus, Candida Arthritis, Bacteroidetes presentative genus ET1 ET3, respectively. Correlation analysis revealed that Lactococcus Bradyrhizobium significantly correlated eviscerated yield (p<0.05) while found close association ducks. different did not show difference (p>0.05). be yield. Conclusion: Our findings substantial variation associated It is implied might potential valuable biomarker assessing duck would provide novel insights into interaction
